Fantastic hotel in a beautiful part of the world.
I always find arriving at a hotel on holiday the most nerve-wracking bit... Will it be ok? Will the room be clean? Will the room smell funny? Will the view be of a brick wall? We needn't have worried! An exceptionally slick arrival with friendly staff at reception, a mere mention of our name to confirm our reservation and we were whisked off to our room - we had requested a sea-view from our window and had in fact been upgraded to a balcony room, lovely. The room was spacious and kept immaculately clean throughout with fresh towels replenished every time we turned our back it seemed! The beach was great and although members of the public can reach it via steep steps, the hotel guests gave exclusive use of a raised area with plentiful sun beds and a terrace bar/restaurant with a good choice of lunch options. The spa was also excellent and we were greatdul for the indoor pool on the couple of rainy days we encountered, again spotlessly clean, plenty of fresh towels, comfy loungers and a beautiful pool with floor to ceiling windows looking out over the bay. Food was also great, extensive choices at breakfast with hot options made to order ( the battered toast with maple syrup is a must!) We went to the old city for dinner most nights but the two nights we did dine at the hotel were excellent - the beef fillet 'rossini' was delicious! Our departure was equally smooth with a taxi waiting to whisk us away from what had been a wonderful stay - highly recommended!
