Ok for a night

Posted 17-Jul-2016
Ok for a quick one night stay. I wouldn't recommend this place for any longer than that, the staff are rude and there's not a lot to do from this location.

Nice area

Posted 19-Jun-2016
Pros: Staff. Bar.
Cons: Attention to detail in the bathroom.
Location: We did not get a chance to anything around the hotel but after looking online, there is so much more historically that we could have done.
I booked this hotel because of the price but it was a very nice place to stay. I only scored it low in one area because of some gunk in the bathroom (minor detail). If you plan on having a car or are amenable to taking the tram, this is a great get-away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Dublin. Great staff and the bar was a nice place to relax. Staff was attentive to our needs.

double room

Posted 11-Jun-2016
Pros: the water pressure was outstanding to any hotel I have ever stayed at, simple GREAT!!!
Location: Trim and Trim Castle was amazing and would recommend the drive to see it.
the only complaint I would have was in front of our bed at one time must have been a repair of some kind and you could really feel it when walking over it and hear it. The one window lock in the other bedroom was broke so we could not keep that window open because our room was at street level and could easily be climbed in, the is no such thing as air conditioning over there.

Big hotel, friendly staff, good breakfast. Suited our needs being a bit out of Dublin and price was ok.

It was an average hotel, definitely not 4 stars. The bed was not comfortable, the walls were covered in scuff marks, the room smelled of terrible soap. There is no AC nor Heating unit control. Our room was located the the end of the hallway which was a full 360 around the building which the keys did not work at first. So we had to walk all the way back around to get news issued.

Nice looking hotel, not 4 star comfort

Posted 02-May-2016
Pros: Location was ok for what we needed. Staff were excellent.
Cons: Mattresses in our room possibly
Location: Did not do much in the general locality. 10-15 minute walk to Luas stop.
My Girlfriend and I chose this hotel for two nights as we thought it would be ideal for a couple of days for Punchestown racing. Staff were very friendly and helpful, could recommend the hotel based ONLY on how nice and helpful the staff were. Checked into our room and I noticed two different food menus in our room, just after eating in the bar downstairs. Food was nice in the bar, although it was a little annoying to find the prices of the food were different in the bar (dearer than menu in the room) and probably because it was a racing festival, prices were up which is a little unfair. I found a menu in the room with pretty much the same food choices, everything cheaper than the menu we found and ordered from in the bar. When going to bed, we found the bed extremely uncomfortable, and very uneven, it was one of these zip and link beds with the zip not zipped. Only for us having a few drinks at the races, we would have found it very difficult to sleep. I was actually delighted to get home to my own bed last night. I am not usually one to write a review like this, but being an honest person, it think if you are paying premium for a hotel, and charging 4star prices, as a guest, I expected better. I think that a few new mattresses are something to look at. Didnt use any other facilities so cannot comment on those and did not have breakfast after what I found with the menu situation.
