2017 In Dublin

Posted 13-Jul-2017
Pros: During our stay the cleaner did a superb job of keeping the room clean The breakfast options were excellent with a wide range of choices
Cons: The use of a card system to operate the lifts is a good idea although instructions are in only one of the two lifts!
Location: Out of town shopping options are plenty, Tallaght and Clondalkin
Given that we made our booking some four months before arrival I felt that we would have been allocated a room well in advance On arrival we were given the room furthest away from the lifts, stairs and all amenities in the deepest, darkest place in the hotel. It was also difficult to find as the were no indicator boards and the room numbering sequence is a feature to behold

Decent accommodations, great staff.

Posted 20-Jun-2017
My stay was relatively comfortable, most of my needs were met. Bed was stiff, but they supplied me with an extra comforter that sufficed. Hotel cafe and the restaurant attached to it weren't cheap, but the food is great. Funny thing, I had to constantly ask for wash cloths; they would turn down my room and replace everything but those. Didn't bother me much because they were always happy to supply whatever I needed. The area provided a view of the Wicklow Mountains in the distance, but it was across the freeway and the hotel was surrounded by typical urban scenery. Very close to the LUAS tram system which is very convenient getting around Dublin. I walked there often, and the tram schedule ran quite frequently. Only two amenities I could have used they didn't supply: microwave(for leftovers) and a mini fridge.

Nice hotel away from the city center

Posted 13-Jun-2017
Pros: The cleanliness and level of service by the staff was on par for a four star hotel. The food and amenities could be improved.
Cons: The rooms without air conditioning should be renovated to include air conditioning to meet the service level of a world class hotel.
Location: Not much nearby other than Joel's Restaurant. It is not close to transport as advertised.
The hotel was over half a mile from transport so not appropriate to stay unless you do not mind walking in the rain or rent a vehicle or have a package where the hotel provides transport. The first family room we received did not have air conditioning and only one window opened so it was extremely hot and stuffy. We had a restless first night's stay. We were moved into a newer family room which was much nicer and more comfortable. The room also had an excellent view of the Wicklow Mountains. The service we received by the staff was very attentive. The hotel was very clean and the food in the bar was good. The included breakfast had a large variety and was okay. It is next door to Joel's Restaurant which was good also.

Exactly what I needed and wanted

Posted 12-Jun-2017
Alright, first off, the hotel restaurant is great. Really good food. The location is decent, 10ish minute walk to the Tram, and a nice community with tons of pubs, and shops just a short walk away. Rooms have everything you'll need and look nice. But the staff, oh man, the staff blow everything outta the park. I arrive there and shortly afterward realize I left my PASSPORT in the cab I took to get there. I'm doomed right? Nope! In comes the hotel manager who flippin HUNTS DOWN this taxi driver to get me my passport. I'm talking about going through security cams for a license plate, making calls, pulling connections, etc. to find this driver. It was a wonder to behold and boom. He got it. And the rest of my trip was a blast. God bless you Sebastian. To whoever's reading this, go to this hotel and give the guy 20 euros or whatever just for being an absolute Saint.

Good hotel easy walk to Luas

Posted 31-May-2017
Pros: Clean and good value.
Location: Not much nearby, although people in local Clondalkin very friendly and a very nice pub.
Really reasonable price. Even though out of city centre good links to city and airport so no real issue.

It is essentially a 2 star hotel with limited amenities. The breakfast was poor. The staff were ok. I did not get a sense that the room was clean. For the price paid, it was disappointing.

Inconvenient

Posted 19-Apr-2017 on Hotels
The morning front desk manager was abrupt in the way he dealt with any concerns we had. The other staff was quite friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was difficult to get to from the airport as a taxi is approximately €50 and the bus service did not take us all the way so we had to take a taxi after taking the bus. There is also not very I mean after taking the bus. There is also not too many amenities nearby with regard to eating, shopping or grocery stores. Anywhere you needed to get to required either a taxi or bus.

Everything we could ask for!

We had a lovely stay at the Louis Fitzgerald, the staff were all friendly and accommodating. The rooms were lovely and clean, the beds had crisp white sheets and we had a very good sleep. The food in the restaurant was not the greatest, quite like Weatherspoons pub food but the staff were good. Joel's restaurant next door however, was excellent. The food was freshly made and there was a big selection of tasty choices. The staff were lovely and friendly. Having a 24 hour shop available on the four court was marvellous if you wanted something like cigarettes, chocolate or a Coke when arriving back after a long day. Or breakfast and pastries in the coffee shop side of the shop. Although, there were vending machines on each floor and an ice machine! As we downloaded Halo (a cheaper version of uber) we always had a taxi waiting for us whenever we needed one, so no hanging around.
