Perfect location for Dublin
This hotel is located in the perfect location for walking around either shopping or sight seeing in Dublin. The room was a nice size, the beds were comfortable and we had a lovely large bathroom. There was a lovely continental breakfast offered and there was tea and coffee offered in your room. It was perfect for our night away in Dublin.

Lucia at reception was particularly welcoming and the hotel was comfortable and in a good location. The room was quiet, the bed was comfortable with nice linens, the bathroom had plenty of shelf space for toiletry bags, and the plugs for phone charging were well located. A very restful night in the centre of Dublin.

Convenient, comfortable, bit tired but great value
Very conveniently located for the centre of town businesses, restaurants and pubs.Rooms are large with great bathrooms. Whole place a bit tired and shabby though and guess thats reflected in the price, which was great value!

The rooms were beautiful and clean. The continental breakfast was a great cost saver and staff was extremely friendly. The only negative was that there is no elevator.

Excellent location, exceptional staff. No frills breakfast but no charge, thats a known before you book. Quirky rooms , very comfortable bed and a proper espresso coffee maker in the room. Does it for me.

Regarding the lift, please note that as our hotel is located in a Georgian building we are limited in terms of material alterations that can be made, and resultantly don’t have a lift in the front of the hotel at this point in time; however, we do have a lift located to the rear of the hotel, accessed through Sams Bar. The lift is available to be used 24 hours by guests, with the only proviso being that porter assistance is required to access same outside of Sams Bar trading hours. This policy is in place for security reasons. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused during your stay. The only good things about this hotel were the location and the complimentary breakfast. For like €300 a night the can afford to give the place a bit of doing up. The carpets, the furniture, bare walls... everything has seen better days. The sign for the spa is a laminated a4 sheet printed with ink that was running out - embarrassingly unprofessional for a ‘four star’ hotel.

Great location and cool vibe
Nice little boutique hotel in downtown Dublin. The property is showing some signs of wear and tear in terms of carpeting and paint but the pros far outweigh the cons. It has a fun sense of style going for it and the staff really shined here. Everyone went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable and the location cannot be beat. Highly recommend.

Our room was at the top of the hotel with a velux window for light , it felt claustrophobic. On the Saturday night the fire alarm went off twice so as you can imagine we panicked as to how we would get out !!! Went down to the reception to be told it went off because of bad weather and loud music from the night club next door (part of the hotel!!) . Very disappointed as this was a 60th birthday present for my husband!!

The location was convenient. There is no elevator service from the lobby to your rooms. It is hit or miss to have someone help you. The bathroom is challenging with an old fashioned claw leg tub with no grab bars to assist you getting in and out. I was traveling with others and even though we we assured we would not hear the noise from the bar attached to the hotel, that was not the case. My friends could identify songs being played in the bar. The noise went until 3:00 AM. I understand their is a renovation being planned which is sorely needed. I stayed at 4 properties in Ireland and the other three were terrific, this was a major disappointment.

The noise from the bar below was unbearable until 2am. Worst night sleep ever and not even a cheap hotel. People should be warned before booking this hotel Should have known when I spotted ear plugs in the bathroom but it was too late as it was already past midnight

Overall a good stay, but does get noisy at night
Overall we had a pleasant stay at the Dawson. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and a fair size. Great location to a lot of attractions. Only downside is being located close to all the nightlife you do hear music and cheering at night. Luckily we didn’t have to get up early for a flight, but if you want a quiet night I would recommend elsewhere.

Everything was exactly how we expected it to be per the website and reviews. The location is wonderful, walking distance to pretty much anything and the public transportation is available right out the front door. The only night we heard the music from the bar next door was Saturday night until about 3am. You basically just got the thumping base, nothing that ear plugs won't fix. Unless you're a light sleeper like me lol It was a good though! There is no elevator which was fine because it would have ruined the feel and look of the place. The staff was outstanding! This was a spectacular place to start our Ireland journey.
