Great hotel on the beach in a lively part of town

Posted 11-Oct-2017
Pros: Breakfast buffet Executive lounge Outside area Location
Cons: Sunbeds need to be more spaced out on the beach
Location: Situated right on the Walk, with lots of shopping and restaurants near by, but the big draw is the beautiful beach!
I had stayed at the hotel previously, but not since 2013 because of the construction work next door (when they were building the shopping centre). This is now finished, and makes the location even better as there is now a cinema next door, as well as multiple new restaurants and shops. The hotel provide excellent benefits for hhonors members - we were lucky enough to get an early check in and a late checkout, as well as a very nice room upgrade. Food is good quality - excellent breakfast buffet (better than any other hilton i've stayed at), and wavebreaker down at the beach does great lunches - with generous portions (we found we could easily share one lunch between us). Tried the dinner buffet one night as that is 2for1 for hhonors members, and again we were impressed at the quality for the price paid. Outside area is lovely and well maintained, but the beach is a lot more cramped than i remember it previously (sunbeds are about an inch apart and the way the parasols are up means you can't take yours down as it;s intertwined with those next to you, so you're in shade all day). This also means the beach buggy that i remember from past years no longer exists (bringing around drinks and ice creams etc) as it can't get through any more. We therefore used sunbeds in the gardens where we felt like we had space, and just walked down to the beach/up to the pool whenever we needed to cool off. It was great to come back, and we'll definitely book to return soon.

Great service. Nice location.

Posted 09-Oct-2017
Excelllent service. Got dates out at the reception for when you arrived. Id take one every time I passed by. Lol. Room was cleaned to the T everyday. Used the gym, sauna, and steam room pretty much every day. They are really nice. Didnt get a sea or pool room view, however the road is busy, so at night it was super cool to sit on the balcony to people watch and see the nice cars drive by. Once they get the ferris wheel running, the view from this hotel will be amazing.

Not as good as it once was

Posted 06-Oct-2017
Pros: The king Gulf Suite The location right on the walk and the beach Hotel/airport transfer was very good
Cons: Don't allow beach pool access to non residents Improve Cocktails Remove swearing drunks who spoil things for everyone else
Location: Plenty of shops and restaurants Dubai Marina Metro/tram nearby
Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights from 27th September, this was our 4th stay. Lots of things that made this hotel feel special no longer exist. No iced towels given out at lunch time No beach butler driving up and down keeping you in drinks quickly and efficiently. If you want a drink now you either wait ages to catch the attention of staff or fetch your own Not a private beach beds and towels sold by the day to outsiders who don't want to pay to stay at this hotel but want to use the bar. Our first day at the pool there were drunk men shouting and swearing, day two at the pool there was a drunk wading round the pool walking into people with a glass of beer (not a plastic pool glass) this glass was then left on the edge of the pool and the pool attendant did nothing. No flip flops for the beach (these were always in the room) Had a Tequila Sunrise at Wavebreaker on our first day it didn't appear to have any Tequila or Grenadine in it there was no fruit slice on the glass, didn't bother to purchase another drink there. There was a drunk in the Executive Lounge one evening swearing loudly although a member of staff did step in on this occasion. Stayed in King Gulf Suite which is really nice but this time no flowers in room and only one towel animal on the last night Warren kept the room beautifully clean and tidy Too much loud music at pool and beach

Pefect Location !

Posted 01-Oct-2017
Just returned from a 4 night stay. Pefect location - on ‘The Walk’, which is a 1.7km strip of restaurants, fast food joints & entertainment outlets (including a lovely cinema). Hotel is on the beach front and has amazing views ! Excellent friendly staff, great facilities including a swim up pool bar and lots of loungers. Will definitely return to this hotel on next trip to sunny Dubai.

Amazing hotel and great service! Great staff and location. Staff couldn't be more helpful and room was cleaned spotlessly. Right by the beach and a number of shops and restaurants.

Well located for the beach and The Walk, clean and tidy rooms Altho this hotel has now been eclipsed by the new 5* resorts built over the last few years

Great location needs updating

Posted 24-Sep-2017
Rooms need updating. Some of the staff were little unfriendly. Fabulous location though near the beach and JBR. The mandatory deposit of 2000 AED was a little steep though!!

lovely clean friendly hotel

Posted 15-Sep-2017
Pros: the personal touch and security
Cons: I think they should have more English food on the menu.
Location: it is in a very busy location there is always plenty to see and do in Dubai that you can be sure of
this is the fourth time we have stayed at this hotel,it has its own private beach, its clean and the staff are very helpful and very friendly, our lift to the airport was late so the manager arranged for a member of staff to take us personally in his own car, security at the hotel is excellent especially on the beach, will be back again next year.
