We stayed at the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel in Dubai for 2 nights at the end of September 2016. This was our first visit to Dubai. The hotel is pretty centrally located and is a short free shuttle bus ride away from the Dubai Mall and the Burj Khalfia, which comes every 30 minutes. The service was excellent throughout and the hotel has a very luxurious feel. There is an outdoor resort-like swimming pool which we did not use.
Our room was small but had a luxe feel. We were located on the 63rd floor and had a north facing view of the water, which was spectacular. Free bottled water was provided each day, which is essential to preventing dehydration in the desert environment and heat. The bed was very comfortable and the bathrooms were clean and felt rather new. Lavender scented bath products were available for use and a rain shower was present. A scale was also available in the bathroom for use.
We requested a rollaway bed to accommodate another guest which was provided without charge. Unfortunately, we did not eat at the hotel.
The hotel lobby is very grand, and there is a comfortable sitting area. The hotel also seems very vibrant at night.
Please be aware that a nominal tourism fee is charged per day.

We loved our stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it to other travellers. It's halfway between the airport and the Dubai Mall so makes getting around in taxis or the metro pretty cheap. The drains did in our room did get a bi smelly but I'm being really picky and would happily stay here again!!

I enjoyed my stay at JW with exception of their WiFi. If they want to lure customers they should drop charging for WiFi 60 Dirham or 100 dirham for faster speed. I rate the internet connectivity to poor and backward.

We were visiting family resident in Dubai and the hotel is located close to where they are living. Excellent hotel which has direct access to a small shopping mall. The hotel is located in a residential area in the suburbs and not really suitable for people wishing to spend their time in downtown Dubai or on the coast - extensive travel required. However for those who want to relax around the pool and enjoy the restaurants the hotel is ideal. The hotel is busy at the weekend when the local expats visit with children for the brunch but it is not a clubbing scene.
