It is hard to beat this hotel location
Its architecture is a nice compliment to Burj Al Arab, its beach is perfect, its amenities diverse and excellent. All is good, but for the fact that its interior has aged. The rooms we were first offered looked aged and had a musty smell. We were moved to remodeled room which has a newer look and smell, but its design and comfort - inferior to the overall look and stature of this property.
Similarly - its lobbies and public areas are crying out loud for a remake. With so much design talent and cool hospitality ideas this excellent property is overdue for an overhaul.
The people however are something else - so very kind, helpful, cheerful. The Executive lounge personnel, names elude me - but great folks in the serving area a( one from Goa I remember), and the ladies at the service desk as well. The Bulgarian woman artist selling airy and designy outfits in the retail area - is quite an asset.
