Atlantis The Palm in Dubai

Posted 24-Mar-2017
Pros: The location, the décor, how clean the hotel is kept with constant attention, the nice smell all over the place. The verity of restaurants.
Cons: For what we paid for dinner at the buffet soft drinks or at least water should be included. Charging $9 for a regular bottle of water is outrageous.
Great place for families. We had a great room on the 17th floor overlooking the palm. The beds are comfortable and the room is big enough to accommodate us and our 2 kids. the staff was great from the moment we checked in until we left. The only disappointing thing, we did not appreciate when at the checking counter the person was trying to sell us an imperial package for $1600 that would give us immediate access to the water park without waiting inline, while neglecting to tell us that many of the water park rides are shutdown for maintenance, and when we went to the park there were hardly any lines at the entry gate.

Amazing stay at a spectacular hotel

Posted 21-Mar-2017
Pros: My favorite was the aquarium. Our little guy loved it too (he's 14 months old).
Cons: The trash cans need trash bags, especially for wet or dirty trash.
Location: It didn't take long getting off the Palm Island, but some of the attractions (Burj Khalifa, Gold Souk) were quite a distance (30+ minutes).
Everything you expect from a 5 star hotel and then some. Food was amazing and SO many options. Even the in room dining was exceptional and perfect after a long flight, not to mention available all day and night. We choose the ocean view and were so happy we did. The beach view actually looks onto the construction going on across the palm frond, so not as nice as you would expect. Pool was great, the water park was really cool (although undoing going yearly maintenance so lots of rides were closed), and the staff was very helpful. Only complaint is that they didn't have bags in trash cans (so a totally minor thing). We will definitely stay here again when the kids are a bit older.

Oh dear what has happened

Posted 19-Mar-2017
Pros: Not a lot
Cons: Everything
This being our third holiday to the Atlantis we were looking forward to it but on arrival we could see things had changed even before we got in the hotel with fish and chip vans on the outside of the hotel along the beach front. This awful site is is reminiscent of a run down British seaside town, some of the take away outlets are old beat up vans, one was a shipping container and another an old caravan. Along side these is bags and bags of rubbish, not a good look. When inside the hotel you could hardly move through the crowds of people that have been bussed in just to wander round and take pictures of the shops, aquarium etc Oh well we will go to the water park to have fun in the lazy river and have a go on the water slides, NO SUCH LUCK, the lazy river and water slides are closed for maintenance all month, NOBODY TOLD US, not even when we checked in, but if you were staying in another hotel and came in for the day you got money off your visit but we didn't get any discount even though we were staying in the hotel, DISAPPOINTED

fabulous resort...would go again

Posted 18-Mar-2017
Pros: Quality of service and number of family activities.
Cons: More lower cost healthy food options.
Location: Tons to do on resort but also lots in Dubai. Too many to list.
We had a fantastic time. Great resort for families and service is excellent. Meals are expensive so be prepared for that. Very high quality food though. We hope to go back if we make it to Dubai again. We upgraded to an imperial club room and it was well worth it.

Great Stay with Free Water Park & Aquarium

Posted 05-Mar-2017
Pros: Good price with commentary water park and aquarium tickets.
Cons: The signs and directions at the hotel and water park are not very helpful. Better to make them more outstanding and easy to read.
My husband and I are satisfied with our one night stay here. The room is spacious and comfortable. Many choices for food and reasonable prices too. We especially enjoy the Aquarium, which has a mystery design and so many beautiful species! We also went to the Water Park. The shark experience is unforgettable, although it is a little cold in February. Only thing in the facility is the signs are not very helpful. You have to kinda figure out the directions by yourself. Other than that, everything is good.

Great hotel

Posted 05-Mar-2017
Had a great time. Only dodgy moment was when my partner and I booked in....both of us men. The one king size room I book became unavailable and we were told it was better for us to have two beds. I'm aware of the law out there so did not kick off. Better to choose your fights. This was the only negative part of the holiday.

All in one place!

Posted 03-Mar-2017
Grand place to visit with family or friends, This hotel boasts an all in one visit and does what it says. The staff are very polite, humble, friendly and the place is vibrant throughout. We got spoilt for choice with breakfast and dinning, so many varieties as always a plus! Be sure to explore Atlantis, there's so much to do available for all ages, or simply relax away by the beach or poolside. Overall we enjoyed it and created many memories. The Cons: Be prepared as everything is overpriced, The room service food was also poor, got an upset tummy for few days!! The water park was under maintaince whilst we were there and was not noted on any travel agencies including Expedia. The Dolphin Bay was AMAZING but they also charge an adult fare for infants like for our 2yr old.

All about the upsell

Posted 01-Mar-2017
Pros: Cleanliness and staffs manners and politeness .
Cons: Separate public areas for hotel guests from day visitors and mood music and /or lighting in said areas.
Location: Be prepared to expect to use all the various methods of transport available to get around the city including taxis and monorail as very far from facil
Never stayed anywhere more obsessed with up selling .Staff made such an issue surrounding extra charges when dining in restaurants making customers feel very uncomfortable and conscious of this fact by issuing separate menus with less choice available . I did not find anything about this hotel 5 star or romantic ,far too commercialised and frantic, busy public areas with customers on day passes for Aqua park occupying most of the public seating areas .I left hotel for Friday brunch and experienced a true 5 star experience at another resort ,just wish I'd stayed there for my 6 day break in Dubai .
