Location is great. We booked the jr. suite. It has a very skinny spiral staircase up to the bedroom, work area and fridge/table. Very difficult to get large suitcase up the stairs.

Great Hotel in a great location!

Posted 23-Dec-2017
Pros: Everything! Location, location, location!!!!!!
Cons: Breakfast include for all guests - no extra charges.
Location: Location was excellent for seeing the historical areas of city and the access to the river.
Everything about the hotel is excellent! Breakfast should be included for all guests. The breakfast, though excellent, was costly!

Great hotel in the best location in Dresden!

Posted 21-Dec-2017
The only downside was that my visit was too short! This hotel and staff are excellent! The location is handy for all sightseeing areas and transportation. The hotel is set in the middle of the all the Christmas markets! Wonderful! Nearby restaurants were very tasty.

Superb hotel, but some staff attitude

Posted 21-Dec-2017 on Hotels
The Hilton is a centrally located wonderful hotel with nicely furnished and very clean rooms with comfortable beds. Breakfast is also absolutely delicious. I have been coming to this hotel for years to enjoy the city during Christmas time, however, this time I had an unpleasant experience with the staff at check-in. I had planned to come to Dresden with my husband but he was unable to come. I had booked a room with breakfast for two through the hotels.com website. When I got to the hotel I just asked if the fee for the unused breakfast that was paid would be able to be applied toward the parking fee. I have no problem with it not being applied, but I did not expect the staff to be so rude about it. They kept repeating 'There is nothing we can do, you have a package deal, but if you would have booked through our website there would have been something we could have done. What really annoyed me was the preaching type tone in which this was all said. A simple 'No' would have sufficed. Almost like I am a second class guest for having booked through another site. What further upset me that I had called the hotel a couple days earlier to check if I could have a room looking out onto Muenzgasse (you can see the Christmas market below), and I was told no problem. But then I was first given a room looking out onto the interior courtyard. Made me wonder whether that was done on purpose because I made them aware of my request at check-in. But this was later rectified by another employee

Location awesome, not so tech-friendly

Posted 16-Dec-2017
Located right by the Frauenkirche with easy access to everything. Friendly and helpful staff. Wifi is not free, and there are no easily accessible outlets (for phones?) near the bed--the table is in the way.

Average got put in a smoking room

Posted 07-Dec-2017 on Hotels
Hotel put me in a smoking room which was disgusting, I didn't sleep well and needed to explain why I stank at my meetings. They didn't change rooms saying they were fully booked. I specifically asked for a non smoking room. Be warned.

Great location and facilities in a great city

Posted 29-Nov-2017
Pros: Staff is very friendly and it is a great place to relax after or in preparation for a strenuous day of sightseeing.
Cons: Use of sauna and wi-fi should be included in room price (although if you sign up for Hilton Honors or are already a member wi-fi is free).
Location: I've been to Berlin and Munich, which are renowned for their museums and attractions. Dresden is a hidden gem that is nearly equal.
The hotel is very close to major museums and attractions. It has several good restaurants on-site and others are nearby. The gym, saunas (3 dry, 1 steam bath!), and pool (although the pool itself is rather small) are excellent. Dresden is well located for day trips to Leipzig and Prague (we went by bus to Prague, which was quick and comfortable). This hotel (and others in the Altstadt area) are about 20 minutes away from the Dresden Mitte and Dresden Main rail stations by foot (or about 5 minutes and 12 Euro by taxi). The museum collections in the Zwinger and Residenzschloss complexes are particularly extensive and interesting. The hotel and city far exceeded my expectations.
