Beautiful historic hotel

Posted 18-Aug-2017
Location: Super-centrally located. Right behind the convention center. 5 minutes from Capitol Hill.
I was delightfully surprised! Thought the rooms might be small, dated. The lobby was "cozy" but staff was terrific and my room was great! Big, nice view, quiet halls. I would definitely go back.

Dowdy

Posted 08-Aug-2017
Pros: The bed was comfortable.
Cons: The water pressure in basin & shower is very poor.
Location: The location was pretty good. As we like to walk, we had no problem getting around. There really isn't very much close by as your right downtown.
We expected old world charm and found worn and musty. Although the staff was pleasant it was a little disappointing when we inquired about a tour and they offered to book it for us at a $20 fee from each of us. A little ridiculous to make a phone call. After trekking around for hours we headed to the bar for a drink. The bartender acknowledged us and asked how we were doing, to which we answered, very thirsty. He walked away and spent the next fifteen minutes doubling as the maitre d and seating people in the adjoining dining room. Really! It would have taken less than thirty seconds to pop open a couple of beers.

Beautiful hotel- great staff- old school!

Posted 26-Jul-2017
If you are tired of the super-sized, cookie-cutter, impersonal hotel experience, then the Henley Park Hotel in Washington DC is just the antidote for you. You are met at the door by a competent, courteous doorman, you will work with friendly and accommodating front desk staff, and will enjoy the beauty of the lobby and sitting room. The smaller size of the establishment permits you to enjoy a peaceful atmosphere, and each guest room is appointed with unique and good quality furniture. The grounds are immaculately kept. Great location! Walking distance to the White House, and close enough to the Metro. We would stay there again.

Historical boutique hotel close to downtown

Posted 20-Jul-2017
Pros: location
Cons: carpet and decor in the rooms needs to be changed
It worked for us since we like walking everywhere. It is about 1 1/4 mile away from the white house and the museums

Mr. Smith Goes to Washington

Posted 06-Jul-2017
This is a great hotel for official business in Washington. While not a modern "business hotel" it has all the charm and polish to make you feel like an official guest to the nation's capital. I very much appreciated the front desk staff. Great suggestions for getting around the city. The room was comfortable, well appointed, clean, and a good place to both sleep and work.

Great Hotel

Good location. Room size is perfect. Clean and cool. Pretty flowers in round about entrance/exit. Dining experience was awesome! Had the rack of lamb which was accompanied with spinach and polenta. The sauce for the lamb was delicious. Staff is friendly.

Great location; short walk to desired attractions.

I really enjoyed this hotel and would stay there again. It is quaint, clean, quiet. I called hours ahead to request an early check in but then was made to wait until 3pm when I arrived a bit early. The hotel was not full, so this was frustrating. When I asked about the temperature in my room (which was cold, even after turning off the A/C) I was told that the heat for the building had been shut off because it was spring, and so there was no way to independently regulate my room's temperature. Customer service could have been stronger on these points, but overall my stay was enjoyable. The lobby is a lovely place to relax and visit. Nice little cafe next door for inexpensive breakfasts if you don't want to pay $13 at the hotel for yogurt and fruit.

Nice hotel with a very good location.

Pros: Ambiance and restuarant.
Cons: Upgrade the bathrooms. Make the cooling system quieter.
Location: Only went to Fords theatre.
Very nice hotel. The restuarant was terrific. Good waiters and over good staff.
