Great location!

Posted 09-Aug-2017
Pros: Location, staff, comfortable beds and bedding, pool and hot tub.
We had a wonderful time on our recent visit to Victoria. We had a group of 5 so booked two rooms. Unfortunately because one room had a kitchen and the other did not, we were not able to get adjoining rooms. But they were only one floor apart and the stairs were easy to access, so it worked out just fine. The standard room with 2 queens in it was a bit tight, with a small bathroom, but it was adequate. The superior room with a separate bedroom, living room and kitchen was pleasant and comfortable. The kitchen had most of what we needed to cook breakfast, with the exception of a pancake turner which we went out and bought. The lobby area is beautifully appointed and pleasant just to sit in. We ordered breakfast delivery to the room one day and it was pretty fast in arriving and tasted good. We did not try out the rooftop restaurant but there are great views from there. Staff were unfailingly pleasant and helpful. The location is perfect as it is only 2 blocks from the epicenter of the tourist world, yet on a quiet street. The pool is a nice size and quite deep, so would not be suitable for young children. The hot tub was small but nice and warm. I would recommend this hotel.

Great Hotel Great Location.

Posted 07-Aug-2017
Pros: Location, and comfortable beds
Cons: Room layout. Air conditioning & room for luggage in Traditional rooms
Location: Short walk to the Empress and all the attractions
I stayed for 4 nights in July 2017, and it was a great experience. The hotel was clean, neat & in great condition. The only issues were the air conditioning (loud & took up too much space) was there was no room for our luggage. The rooms are VERY compact. My friend and I stayed in their "Traditional Room", each sleeping in separate beds. We had to put both suitcases in the door way while we slept hoping for no emergencies. There was a large portable A/C unit, that was needed, but would have been nice if it was built in and gave us more room. The closet was too small to put the suitcases in.

Great Location

Posted 30-Jul-2017
Pros: Location, staff and cleanliness.
Cons: Restaurant service and staff at Vista 18.
Location: High Tea at the Empress Hotel, whale watching, bus tours, museum and many restaurants.
The Chateau Victoria Hotel and Suites was an all round excellent hotel to stay at while visiting Victoria. The location was excellent - highly walkable to restaurants, the wharf and most tourist attractions. We were upgraded upon our arrival and also given a room with a pull out couch. The hotel staff was friendly and knowledgeable. However, I would not recommend eating at Vista 18 - the onsite restaurant. We were given a gift card from a family member so ate breakfast on two occasions. The service was slow, the breakfast/brunch buffet was not adequately stocked and the entire restaurant appeared to be understaffed on both occasions. I would definitely recommend staying at the Chateau Victoria Hotel and Suites but would be sure to eat off site.

Pros: Easy access to everything.
Cons: Milk for our AM tea.
Location: Great location able to walk to everything we wanted to do.
Everything was just fine only had one thing that upset us and that was the fire alarm during the night but we were given the all clear and continued our sleep.

Amazing!!!

We enjoyed being able to walk outside of our hotel and Shop and eat at close restaurants. We were close to the harbor and just about everything. The pool and jacuzzi were clean and well maintained. In the pool area it had a bathroom with a shower. Wonderful smelling soap, shampoo etc. Also liked that the staff was able to give us a map of the city and top rated restaurants. I wish we could have stayed for a couple weeks!

Feels Like Family

Posted 10-Jul-2017
My family and I truly enjoyed our stay at the Chateau Victoria. Chad and all the other seasoned hotel staff were very accommodating, especially housekeeping attending to all our needs. Our stay felt a lot more personable than other hotels. CV took the time to make us feel welcomed and comfortable. It was as if we were home in a different country! I can honestly say it was better than the Fairmont and Grand Pacific. CV provides morning coffee to its clients however, providing afternoon coffee is an inexpensive way to further set CV apart. Will definitely stay here again!
