A beautiful piece of history

Posted 14-Sep-2017
Pros: The historical aspect.
Cons: The beds are a little too firm
Location: The hotel is on a lovely walking street with lots of cafes, restaurants and shopping. I was sorry I didn't spend a few more days.
What a beautiful historical building built for a marquess and lovingly restored into a bed and breakfast. Each room is like it's own apartment, very large. We can't help but wonder the events this home has seen. The staff was friendly and helpful. Would return again and again for the marvelous ambiance.

This hotel has a nice ambiance!

Posted 25-Jul-2017
Pros: Is right in the heart of downtown
Cons: Our room had a strong smell of some chemical.
This hotel has a beautiful ambiance, waking up to the sound of the piano by breakfast was delightful. Food was great! Our room had a scent of some chemical. Had to open windows. Other than that my husband was delighted by this hotel.

Well located in historic center of Queretaro.

Posted 30-Jun-2017
Pros: Magnificent, historic mansion, well preserved and maintained. Could easily walk to all of our planned visits to museums and historic buildings.
Cons: Bi-lingual guides at the historic sites and museums would have been helpful. Also, more locations to exchange US dollars for pesos.
Location: Exceptional preservation of Mexican architecture from 1750 and plenty of sites and venues to visit in the historic central area.
We were very pleased with our stay at this historic location and will stay there again on our next visit. The staff throughout hotel were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Although our ability to speak Spanish is limited, this was not a problem. Although we have been to San Miguel de Allende (about 1 1/4 hour to the northwest) about a dozen times this was our first time to visit Queretaro. Normally the airlines would fly you through the airport at Leon/Guanajato, now you are directed through Queretaro. Although Queretaro is a large city that has benefited immensely from NAFTA, the central historic area remains largely untouched and insulated from the massive growth and development the area has experienced. If you are on your way to San Miguel de Allende, you should spend at least 2 nights in the historic central area and visit the local historic sites. Indeed, Queretaro, itself, is worth an extended weekend visit.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel and close to everything. The hotel is beautifully restored. Room was filled with lovely antiques. Bed was comfortable. Only wish we had stayed longer!

Nice hotel but no A/C!

Posted 16-Apr-2017
Pros: Location is central to historic district.
Cons: Fix the A/C! Make it reliable. Have staff that knows how to fix it, if it goes down.
Location: Location was fine. Walking distance to all downtown historic sites.
I stayed 3 nights in this hotel. Two of which did not come with A/C. The days were hot, and I really needed a nice cool room, but did not get it. I spoke w/ mgmt who could not transfer me to another room, and only gave me a fan for two nights to circulate the hot air. They didn't even try to compensate me by offering at least a complimentary meal in their restaurant. Nothing, but apologies.

Beautiful colonial building in great location

Posted 29-Mar-2017
Pros: Location, decor, cleanliness, staff
Cons: Internet connection,
Location: Parks, museums, churches, theatres, shopping, restaurants
This hotel is in the perfect location for walking all around the centre of Queretero. It is like stepping back in time, beautifully appointed and furnished. We ate only breakfast in the hotel and it was adequate, nothing special. There are some fantastic restaurants close by, an internet searach will show you. Speaking of internet, the connection was unreliable from our room so we had to sit in the lobby. Room was immaculately clean, comfortable bed in the King suite we booked.
