The sofa bed is terrible. The mattress is old and you can feel the coils poking at you. It should not be advertised as a sleeping option. The rest of the hotel is OK, but that detracted from the whole experience. It seems that this has been a problem for more than a year and the management acknowledges it, but has not done anything to fix it.

The facility was well kept but what really stood out was the service. I was travelling alone with two kids, and the service I was offered really was beyond excellent. It was kind. Breakfast was great, coffee was good. Our only quibble was that the pool was closed on the weekend, and we didn't realize that until we tried to go for a swim. Even with that, this might have turned me into a regular Marriot customer.

Parking charge is $37 a night. You can drive around the corner to park in nearby lots for half the cost. Staff claimed to know nothing about it. Way too high for the area. Also breakfast ends early at 9:30 and it is quite busy - almost a fight to get enough food from the buffet style set up. They should extend the hours.

I love this hotel. It has been one of my favorite places to stay when visiting in Portland.

Parking was very expensive and not included in the booking charges. Breakfast is okay and nothing outstanding. Hotel is clean and staff were very nice, though.

Check-in was great, was offered H2O and it was welcomed on the very hot wknd we were in town. Liked our room, it was clean and neat and the ice maker in the freezer worked quickly. The towels were a little rough and the bed was a bit lumpy, but we enjoyed our room. We were given a room on a high floor and it was very quiet and we loved that. The shower gels/shampoo smelled so good! Loved that the shower curtain bar curved outward as it gave a much larger feel to the tub area. It was also nice to have the sink outside of the shower/toilet area. Enjoyed having parking that required a cardkey for entry. We didn't have a problem finding a spot to park at night. The hotel is a very short walk from the transit pickup should you need that. We ended up driving to places we wanted to visit and it was really nice to have the flexibility of available parking when we returned. There is a surcharge for parking, but honestly that's an understood with hotels anymore and it's not as expensive a charge as the other hotels in the downtown area. While the hotel may not look close to downtown on a map, it actually is, and it is also right next to Willamette river. The Oregon Beer festival was happening on the river while we were there and even so, it didn't make for rush hour like driving or an oversaturation of people. We loved the location as it was a quick drive across the bridge to get to Pok Pok Wings.
