Amazing

Posted 27-Mar-2017
Our room 'Horse Chesnut' was stunning and even had a sea view about the tree tops. Some of the best food I have eaten and a relaxed 24hr bar.

Hotel itself very pleasing but room small

Posted 22-Mar-2017
Pros: The staff were very pleasant Food was good
Cons: The booking in staff to be mindful of room sizes so people staying more than 1 night get the larger rooms. Bigger car park
Location: Location suited us hence booking it Near to beach and out of the way of noise
Hotel very clean staff excellent BUT we had a standard double room for 3 nights, The room was called English Oak it was really small only good enough for an overnight stay. No hanging space in small wardrobe due to the tea and coffee stuff taking all the room,no draw space to put even underware in.The room was very very cramped we felt clostrephobic. We had to live out of our suit case for the 3 nights most uncomfortable. This was a special weekend for us but really was spoilt by the room. We spent quite a lot of money on this and we know we-would have had a bigger room and a better stay at a lower budget hotel. Car park also had limited parking had to park on hotel opposite.

Weekend break with Hubby

Posted 06-Mar-2017
Pros: Location within walking distance of the beach, shops and restaurants. The staff were very good even when things were busy. Decor and cleanliness.
Cons: Storage and shelf space in bedroom and bathroom. It would also have been nice to have had a arm chair to sit and read in.
Location: Location was very good, close to beaches, shops, theatres and restaurants. Bike hire along the seafront.
Arrived to a warm welcome. Stayed in the Red Oak room which was large and had a nice outlook over the front garden. As there where no leaves on the trees we could also see the sea. Room was nice and clean. Bed lovely if a bit too soft for my liking. The addition of a tea pot and fresh milk was very much appreciated. Lovely walk in shower and nice thick towels. Generally there was a lack of shelf space especially in the bathroom. Sound proofing was really bad, we where able to hear everything that was being said next door. We were disappointed by breakfast, not the tasty experience we had hoped for. Service was very slow. Room is small and at times very noisy. Staff try their best but it is just chaotic. Our experience at breakfast lead to us cancelling our reservation for dinner and going elsewhere. One other thing that I feel the need to mention is parking when there is a wedding event. There needs to be some provision made for guests staying at the hotel when there are events going on. We arrived back from dinner on the Saturday night unable to find a parking space within the grounds or the surrounding streets. Luckily we only have a small car and eventually managed to find somewhere.

Modern friendly hotel

Posted 25-Feb-2017
Had a four night stay here just to be central for a bit of exploring. Lovely hotel. Very comfortable beds. Water in room daily and a cookie. Eco- friendly. Stayed with my daughter so asked for a twin with an ensuite however there are rooms with a roll top bath in them for the more romantic. Breakfast wonderful especially the mushrooms on toast.

Hotel is in a great location. Close to the beach and short walk to the town. Decor is very stylish. The service at this hotel is amazing. The staff are super helpful and can not to enough for you. The restaurant serves high quality food and the cocktails in the bar are excellent. Had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and will definitely return.. extremely well managed property..

Nothing short of excellent

Posted 20-Feb-2017
This eco friendly hotel is nothing short of welcoming. The staff are from management through to bar staff and housekeeping are warm, kind, friendly and helpful. I have an allergy to down feather so all bedding was changed to hypo allergenic. The team went further and told me the cushions in my room and around the hotel were also down and they would change the cushions in my room too. (It wasn't necessary but the extra mile was touching). The beds are comfortable and if you get too hot there are fans available in the room. The hotel provides fresh milk for tea and coffee and there are biscuits made by the chef all of which are happily replenished any time of day or night. The larger rooms have roll top baths in the bedroom as well as showers and separate toilet areas. The bar staff are knowledgeable about the drinks and great at recommending food at the Arbor. Dinner portions are just the right size and again the staff are kind and friendly and happy to chat. All are highly organised and efficient. Not a single member of staff hangs around doing nothing. If you want a spa treatment in your room book in advance with the hotel. Likewise if eating at the Arbor Restauarnt book well in advance it popular. This place welcomes children and accommodates just as well for them as they do for romance. Wonderful place. Can't wait to stay again.

Lovely clean comfortable hotel

Posted 14-Feb-2017
This is a great hotel. Nice staff. Clean comfy rooms. We have stayed here before in a posher room, though the standard double was just as nice. We had some noisy people next to us onour night, but that was not the hotels fault and it didn't bother us.
