Pros: Sea view & access to beach .
Cons: Breakfast.
Location: Great location nr beach, Sea, Harbour & Chain link ferry to Studland.
As frequent visitors to Bournemouth, we usually go for basic cheaper type hotels, but we decided to treat ourselves to staying here in a Sea view / Balcony room. To be honest the room wasn't anything special it was just the sea view. You could hear everything in the neighbouring rooms. For over an hour children were running along the corridors past us and upstairs shouting etc. Breakfast was serve yourself, which is ok, but was awful, bacon tough as leather etc, just ended up having toast and yogurt.

We stayed here on our wedding day and thought we’d go back. Brilliant stay the only down side was we had to pay £10 for parking, thought it was disgusting and very disappointed

Sand banks hotel

Posted 05-Nov-2017
Very tired rooms and dated bathrooms. When we arrived our first room had smashed glass on the balcony and was dirty and overlooked the car park. So I asked reception if we could move rooms. The receptionist was going to charge me for an ‘up-grade’ but the manager said no extra charge would be applied and gave us a room overlooking the beach identical to the one we were originally given. We had a family room and the girls bunk beds were awful they creaked and were noisy when you moved and the springs from mattresses could be felt. I had to take the girls mattresses and put them on the floor. The sofa bed in the main room was broken. The phone in the room didn’t work do had to ring the hotel to get room service. The dinning room chairs were dirty so were the glasses and cups and the fried breakfast was horrible. The whole place is tired, although the bar area looks like it’s been up-dated and is pleasant. The staff are mainly students and most of them English was not their first language. We would never stay here again standards far to low. It’s a shame as the location is lovely.

Location: Walking, beach, cycling, sailing
Great location v friendly staff, excellent views. Hotel is a little scruffy round the edges. Drinks expensive.
