View from Top Floor room was amazing

Posted 20-Apr-2017
Pros: The position made us select this hotel
Cons: It needs to be refurbished & the outside desperately needs a coat of paint ! It is so very expensive for what it offered.
Location: Well positioned. Sandbanks is well situated for the coast & Swanage
We were disappointed to see how neglected the front of Sandbanks hotel is ! We were very disappointed that we paid such a high price for a low quality bedroom ! One of the bathroom sinks was cracked, the other sink had a broken tap which dripped. The skylight in the bathroom was covered with cobwebs. This is not what we would expect from a 4 star hotel ! It was our wedding anniversary treat & we paid a high price , thinking it would be a luxurious treat ! We feel very let down & would not recommend this hotel or go there again. The room itself ( Room 311 ) was well situated on the top floor with a lovely view . The bed was disappointedly a basic double bed & hard ! The linen had a hole & looked so old.

Wonderful views of the beach

Posted 19-Apr-2017
Pros: Views views views!
Cons: Some quiet rooms would be nice, we had children on both sides, a tad noisy!
This was a last minute booking, just two nights, and we were not disappointed. We opted for a sea view and wow so glad we did. We were so lucky with the weather too! Yes parts of the hotel is in need of some TLC but you get that everywhere. Could not fault the service or food. Thanks for a lovely stay, did not want to come home

Pros: Location was perfect.
Lovely location. Hotel staff all very pleasant and happy to help. Rooms a little old fashioned but all very clean and a very comfortable bed. Would happily return.

Very dated hotel , good location

Posted 24-Feb-2017
We thought the hotel was in need of total refurbishment. The indoor swimming pool was very small and old. The room was ok but not anything special. Toiletries in the bathroom not good quality. The towels didn't smell fresh even though they looked clean . The service was adequate in the restaurant for breakfast and fairly decent choice . Wouldn't rate it a four star .

Proximity to beautiful beach and the seA

Posted 20-Feb-2017
Lacklustre welcome. Lack of information. No offer at reception for help with luggage on arrival. On checking out , when handing in keys , I was asked if I needed help with luggage! Too late I replied. To be told that I should have asked!' I will not recommend this hotel. It is a business, impersonal and feels like a conference centre. No warmth.

Room is spacious but very unclean with rust, mould and stains. The walls are also paper thin and I would highly reccommend ear plugs as we were woken up at 6am by our neighbours.

Great location. Bedrooms in desperate need of an update. Cold room. Carpets not vaccumed. Dirty bathroom floor and stains on cushions, bed spread and chair, unfortunately. we love the location and stay often. I wish this place could get its act together.
