Sea views

Posted 09-Jun-2017
Warm welcome at reception Sea view room was fantastic, nice to Wake with the sound of waves on the beach, some of the furnishings starting to get a little tired. Would stay again just for the location

Grand aged relic of the past. Poor food options

Posted 02-May-2017
The hotel is nice enough if very dated with amazing views. Unfortunately it is not a four star hotel in the same way as other four star hotels i have stayed at. Our room was not cleaned when we got back in the afternoon and when i called down they said someone was due to do it. They turned up in the next 5 minutes as if the room had been forgotton. They did not change the sheets or properly clean the room except to do up the bed and replace the towels. The food was the worst thing. Ordering a burger the middle was raw but it tasted ok so I ate it. I heard another lady complain that the burger for her son was frozen. For dinner we had a two course meal. The food was ok enough but the portions were miniscule. The first course was brought out within 2 minutes of ordering. We were out again in 30 minutes. Breakfast finished at 9:55am rather than 10:am with the manager going around and taking the old unused butter packets from tables and putting them back for future guests use and cleaning all the table. . At 9:55 they took away most of the breakfast food. It seems petty and i understand they wanted to get a head start on the cleaning but at a four star restaraunt breakfast to 10am should be just that. Also the only other food item we had was a cream tea in the bar that took ages to come. Also witnessed the staff arguing amongst themselves. In summary, ok building, amazing views but the place needs a rethink on how it is being run. feels like a above par premier inn.

great location with a sea view

Posted 01-May-2017
This hotel is great for overlooking the sea. However, it's overpriced because it's on Sandbanks. The room was ok the bathroom was very dated and it took 4 or 5 attempts to get the toilet to flush. The bed was so uncomfortable we've come home more tired than we went, it was 2 singles bolted together which I don't expect for £220 per night. Breakfast was lovely in the seaview restaurant. Overall disappointing for the price, next time I would just stay in a Premier Inn, you might not have the view but you would have a good nights sleep!

Excellent position for hotel

Posted 25-Apr-2017
Pros: The position right on the beach.
Cons: A lot of the building is rather outdated and needs upgrading. Lift should go to 3rd floor.
Location: Very central position in Sandbanks with fantastic views from back and front of property.
Went for weekend break to unwind and came home feeling very relaxed. Lovely room on 3rd floor with fantastic sea views from balcony. Food in restaurant was excellent. Hotel was very clean, although rather dated and tired looking in places. Very well positioned right on beach with plenty of lovely walks right on the doorstep. Staff were very pleasant and there was a relaxed atmosphere throughout.

View from Top Floor room was amazing

Posted 20-Apr-2017
Pros: The position made us select this hotel
Cons: It needs to be refurbished & the outside desperately needs a coat of paint ! It is so very expensive for what it offered.
Location: Well positioned. Sandbanks is well situated for the coast & Swanage
We were disappointed to see how neglected the front of Sandbanks hotel is ! We were very disappointed that we paid such a high price for a low quality bedroom ! One of the bathroom sinks was cracked, the other sink had a broken tap which dripped. The skylight in the bathroom was covered with cobwebs. This is not what we would expect from a 4 star hotel ! It was our wedding anniversary treat & we paid a high price , thinking it would be a luxurious treat ! We feel very let down & would not recommend this hotel or go there again. The room itself ( Room 311 ) was well situated on the top floor with a lovely view . The bed was disappointedly a basic double bed & hard ! The linen had a hole & looked so old.

Wonderful views of the beach

Posted 19-Apr-2017
Pros: Views views views!
Cons: Some quiet rooms would be nice, we had children on both sides, a tad noisy!
This was a last minute booking, just two nights, and we were not disappointed. We opted for a sea view and wow so glad we did. We were so lucky with the weather too! Yes parts of the hotel is in need of some TLC but you get that everywhere. Could not fault the service or food. Thanks for a lovely stay, did not want to come home

Nice staff and good service. Spacious room but incredibly dated hotel in real need of renovation
