Pleasant personal experience

Posted 15-Oct-2016
Pros: helpfull staff
Cons: poor Wifi
Location: Good location in walking distance to the sea.
We booked a last minute double room and got an en-suite twin room on the ground floor at the back of the building, which turned out to be much more modern than some other rooms we booked before in the same hotel. The following night I wanted to book a single room and hotel staff was very helpfull and gave me one of the nicer rooms on the first floor for a bargain. From experience I know that you could also get rooms which are very old fashioned, with dated furniture and ugly carpets and in urgent need for refurbishment! A real drawback in this hotel is the poor Wifi connection, you only have it very near the reception.

Location: Fair walk into town but plenty of taxis and buses
Don't let the flaking paint on some of the window frames put you off, if you need a good value hotel with a comfortable bed and pleasant staff you won't go far wrong here.

Staff very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable but furniture is outdated and tatty but that did not bother us. The food was not great and thought it was expensive for what was served.

Only one positive point : well situated

Posted 12-Aug-2016
£106 for one night included breakfast is definitively overpriced : old fashioned hotel, bad condition of the bathroom, not really clean ( dust, dirty sofa, dirty carpet, ...), two lights on the room were out of service, no wifi connection ( tried to connect on it without success), very poor breakfast ( no fresh/real juice, no fresh bread, no croissant/pain au chocolat, only traditional english breakfast, no hot chocolate or hot milk for children,...). I had to pay £10 more to leave at 12pm instead of 10am : i went to the reception at 11pm to ask for it and had to pay immediatly so i had to come back to my room, go down again - very unfriendly night staff : no good evening, no thank you,... ) The staff does not speak well in english - especially on the "restaurant" and even if the girl seems to be nice, she did not understand my request. I had a view from my room on a small terrasse and detritus left here. the only positive pount is the position : 5min to the beach, 15min to the station, quiet road.

Nice hotel at reasonable price, close to the beach

Nice hotel, comfortable stay and very close to the beach. The cleanliness of the rooms, especially the toilets could have been better.

Hotel in Strandnähe

Posted 07-Aug-2016
Pros: Ruhiges Hotel in guter, strand- und zentrumsnaher Lage.
Das Hotel liegt nahe am Strand. Zum Zentrum und zu Bus und Bahn ist es ebenfalls nicht weit. Trotzdem sehr ruhig. Marode Ausstattung, mangelhafter Service. Positiv: Haartrockner, Bügeleisen und Heizlüfter auf dem Zimmer.

Nice place to stay.

I've stayed here lots of times. Like most hotels in Bournemouth, the rooms could do with a re-vamp, but overall it's a bargain for the price.
