Hotel and staff are great It was easy to communicate in english. Staff reacted very flexibly to a booking problem. Landmark Rooms are big, comfortable, clean. Hotel is right in the center, 100m away from metro line 1, wanfujing station. Beijing is a large city, city tourist map is not reliable at all. It takes 30-60minutes to airport, 20minutes to beijing south railway station by taxi. Metro easy to use, names are written in english too. We didnt try other amenities, spa of hotel.
I recommend this hotel to English speaking people visiting Beijing. There was no communication problems, they were friendly and helpful, and the facility was excellent. I would stay here again without question.
This is a high end luxury hotel with tons of high end stores in the lobbies. However, good luck trying to find a snack at midnight or a bar buzzing with nightlife. It was dead after dark location is good and cost was not too bad for a 4 or 5 star in downtown Beijing. I would not stay here again if I had the choice of another hotel with some more character and liveliness.
We stayed for 6 night and were on the executive floor which was perfect for our need. The staff was able to converse in english with us and had access to the executive lounge for breakfast and dinner. The metro was about 10 minutes walk fron the hotel and it was very convenient to move around the city. The only little negative thing was the fact that it was always very complicate to order a taxi from the hotel. On more than one occasion the taxi that was suppose to pick us up, refused to bring us to our destination and it was quite frustrating.
Concierge and staff were extremely friendly and helpful, hotel was always clean, most staff spoke decent English compared to many other hotels in Beijing. The location was great. WiFi was fast and accessible at all places in building except pool area which was not an issue for me. I really enjoyed my stay at the Regent and would definitely come back.
Pros - Great location close to Wangfujing shopping and restaurants. We could walk or take a taxi easily. Also very close to New world shopping center. Hotel room was beautiful and modern and had a good view.
Swimming pool and hot tub were great and locker rooms were well equipped. Breakfast buffet was extremely good.
Cons - Bed was not very comfortable and pillows were too soft. Unlike the Holiday inn we stayed earlier there was no choice in types of pillows. Front desk staff were a bit snippy while checking in and out or when we asked for directions. Given that a majority of the clientele are Western, it would be good if the staff were more fluent in English.

They do have wireless internet, or did on my floor and everywhere else. Free & un-secure.
There was usually 1 person at the front desk who spoke pretty good English. The remaining front desk were about 60-75% fluent. The concierge staff were good, heard good things about them from other guests, and they helped me, they spoke about 80-90% fluent English.
The sky restaurant has a great view. Go after it rains, or smog free/ nice day.
Beware: very expensive. I had a $15.00 USD Americano. But I was paying for the view.
Looking elsewhere: If your conference is going here and you want to find a nicer hotel, don't. Beijing is a nightmare you've got to stick with the main G7. But seriously, I saw the horrible TripAdvisor reviews and nearly booked elsewhere, but that would've been a bad mistake because it's soooooo hard to keep in touch with your comrades, or plan stuff etc. Get weChat if you want to keep in touch with people at home and in Beijing.
It was a great studio apartment within walking distance to the Forbidden City and Wangfujing street. Staff that spoke English and always willing to help you find what you are looking for. Rooms include washer/dryer, stove, fridge, microwave and dishes. Bed was a bit stiff but I would use them again. The subways were a great way to get to everywhere we wanted. Well organized maps and directions.

An historical district, Dongcheng is home to a concentration of major sights and treasures including Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City (Palace Museum). To the south, discover Wangfujing Street, a famous shopping boulevard that sees mostly foot traffic only. Here, more than 200 old Beijing brands still reign supreme including the Wuyutai Tea House and Shengxifu hat store.
