I was staying in Beijing for the first time and didn't know what to expect in a room. What I got was a great value. Super service, great amenities and clean as a whistle. The room was comfortable with a great bed and comforter. The views from the street side were wonderful. From my 12th floor room I could see the tops of the gate to the Forbidden City and the mountains out to the west of the city. Down below and across from the hotel is a pretty little park and an athletic facility where the kids play basketball and soccer.
Support is excellent. Ada, a staff member in the business office went to extraordinary lengths to make sure I got my Hong Kong from Guangzhou ticket in the mail before I checked out. You can not get they type of service anywhere today.
In addition to the helpful staff, the location turned out to be great for me. I like to walk, and it was nothing for me to walk to a majority of major attractions in the city. The ones I couldn't walk too, I could take one of the two metro lines within 200 meters. I had one tour to the Great Wall that I had to arrange transportation.
This hotel is well suited to business travelers, the room has a comfortable desk area and each morning I'd make myself a cup of coffee and take care of correspondence.
I extended my original reservation two times for a total of weeks because there is a lot of see and I was comfortable
The hotel is in a good location within walking distance of the Forbidden City. The staff at the hotel was very nice and very helpful. The breakfast at the hotel was very good and worth adding to your stay. The other restaurant and bar within the hotel was also very good. Beijing is very big but there are many things within walking distance of the hotel.
Very helpful staff. I made a mistake with e booking, and they were only too happy to help fix it on arrival. Very easy to find, just as per their instructions on the website, and great location in the hutongs. Go for a room with a window. The private car tour to the great wall was fantastic too. Great driver. Would definitely stay here again.

Our 625 sq. ft room was missing at least 200 sq. ft. The Studio apartment was much smaller than advertised and not well suited for American visitors. There was no way to take a shower without soaking the bathroom floor and rugs. Warning wet marble floor and hotel slippers are not a good combination. After the fall, one of the hotel managers upgraded our room and the bath had a separate shower so no slip and slide across the bathroom floor. The staff was great and always helpful. The rooms are nice, except the studio apartment. Location is great walk to sites and near enough to subway to to make it convient. My fiance speaks perfect Mandarin so our trip was greatly improved by the ease of communictions. The people are freindly, helpful and the food is great. Loved this trip. So once we got out of the Studio apartment the stay was quite pleasant.

"Reasonably priced, comfortable stay close to Metro"
We stayed at the Sunworld hotel in December. The hotel was comfortable, our room had a nice view, and was with 5 minutes walk of the Metro. The towels were fluffy, bedding was crispy white and mattresses were firm. During our stay Beijing had some of the highest levels of pollution so the air purification unit in the room was a welcome sight; it was quiet enough to run on low power through the night. I am a light sleeper and didn't have any problems with the noise level during our five day stay. It was a pleasant surprise to receive a small complimentary box of cookies on Dec 24. We stayed at different hotels while visiting China. All of the hotels provided 2 complimentary bottles of drinking water daily and had minibars in addition. Room service had decent food, but 2 out of 4 times my order was incorrect. I did my best to speak slowly and clearly, but found staff attending room service were not fluent in English. The Sunworld had coffee mugs and spoons in a draw. We decided to purchase fruit, cereal and fresh milk from WuMart and were able to store the milk in the fridge. Although Tiananmen Square & the Forbidden City were reportedly within 20 minutes walk we took the Metro. The number 111 bus went to the Panda House. A convenient shuttle bus ran every hour to the airport and was within a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. The ride took about 50 minutes and cost 24 Yuan per person. I would stay here again.
An historical district, Dongcheng is home to a concentration of major sights and treasures including Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City (Palace Museum). To the south, discover Wangfujing Street, a famous shopping boulevard that sees mostly foot traffic only. Here, more than 200 old Beijing brands still reign supreme including the Wuyutai Tea House and Shengxifu hat store.
