"The room size is bigger than usual hotel rooms with microwave and refrigerator freezer. Continental breakfast was better than most with fresh biscuits and gravy. We never did use the pool and hot tub but looked in on them and they seemed nice."

"The Clowney Street Cottage "grew on us." The upstairs was comfortable and we liked the decor. There were some quirks with the lighting, stairs, lots of floor creaks, and miscellaneous needs such as newer washcloths and towels. The kitchen and bedrooms are on the second floor, which was not in the listing and could cause some accessibility issues for guests. The property is an old carriage house with up-to-date kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms, and was overall charming, safe and comfortable for our stay."

"For anyone who loves nature, this place is for you! Not only is Dalsoren House immaculate, comfortable, and a story by itself, the entire property is a gem. We spent countless hours outside wandering the property, enjoying the all of the nature that surrounded us. We were surprised to be at the right place at the right time many times - when a tree fell in the woods, when we came nearly face-to-face with a doe (thankfully, the trout stream was between us) who didn't appreciate our presence (evidenced by her huffs), and when the chattering sandhill cranes flew above us. Mowed paths led us on different walks each day. The stars at night were breath-taking. Inside, the accommodations were excellent and kept us very comfortable. Every light switch/outlet is labeled for easy use of the house. The kitchen was super clean. Windows provided great views outside as well as lovely decoration inside with stained glass panels. We felt secluded and private in this exceptional piece of nature.I spent our first two evenings reading the story of the family matriarch's journey to America. It was fascinating and very well-written! I imagined where they might have built their initial dugout on the land. I would have loved to have also learned about subsequent generations. Had we stayed longer, I would have read the entire story again. Maybe next time, as this is a place we plan to visit again! Thanks to Thea and the Thompson family for sharing this very special place with us!"

"We come every year in October for House on the Rock Darkside. This is the perfect hotel for that. Close drive but near some food and stores. Always friendly staff, clean rooms, and comfy beds. Breakfast is very basic but free . Great to have a mini fridge and microwave in the room. We will be back next year!"

"This little place is ideal. My wife and I stay in Mineral Point on a regular basis and have stayed many different places. The location is perfect, 1 block of High Street in the middle of town. It is a recently fixed up sweet little spot. My only worry is that my good review may make it more difficult for me to find future availability, because we would stay here again without a second thought!"
