"I was expecting more for that price , $450 dlls for the small room and 30 dlls for valet parking and not even a complementary bottle of water in the room .. other thing you can see everything through the window because the curtains don't cover all , with all the respect that's very expensive place to stay ...."

"Our stay at the Citizen was excellent. It’s a beautiful hotel with historic features. The manager was very helpful, as well as the valet staff. The bathtub is an interesting design. It’s difficult to get into. We enjoyed the restaurant for lunch and brunch. I highly recommend a stay at the Citizen."

"Parking was terrible. Was told i could request a roon with a balcony upon arrival, that was a lie. The pool was one of the dirtiest ive seen. Luckily they had a pool broom and net available, so i could spend the next 30 minutes cleaning "their" pool, so my 2 kids could have some sort of pool time. One of the queen beds was sunken in the middle and around midnight, the thermostat batteries were too low to have adequate cooling in the room. Son also got locked in the bathroom for a good 5 minutes before i could get him out (faulty door lock). Should have just canceled the reservation when i checked in and saved myself the stress. "

"The room was okay to stay in but parking was extremely limited and had only compact spaces. When we got there at night there was almost no parking available. The area where this hotel is located is also ghetto there was a lot of homeless around. The hotel is good for a last resort option. It is on the cheaper side you pay what you’re getting for. The company of the hotel is not bad but the area makes it bad. I would not recommend if you drive mid to large size vehicle. The location was okay it was close to the freeway and other places."

"I booked a stay at the Vagabond last year because there was a concert and nothing else was available. I was surprised - it was an updated room that was clean with friendly staff. The breakfast was good too. So I rebooked this year for a conference. I arrived. I waited in the lobby for about 10 minutes before any staff came in to check me in. I was given a room that might have been cleaned. I noticed shoe marks on the on the floor in the bathroom, some "cream" on the shower walls, and everything in the room was dated - including the chipped counter tops in the bathroom. The entire property is being renovated. Most of the rooms are being gutted. Drywall dust is everywhere. There was construction equipment outside of my room. Waking up on Sunday morning to the sound of electrical saws and hanmers was a bonus feature not listed on the Expedia website. You could definitely charge more. The included breakfast was a bagel. They may have had bread. I don't remember seeing a toaster. There was coffee. Hot water for tea. Nothing else was available. No cereal, fruit, milk, juice...nothing. The highlight of the stay in the Vagabond was a plate of cookies in the reception area and I happily took a handful. I hope they are able to sell the location and someone else takes over and improves the facility. The site location is amazing and it's really disappointing that we don't have more options in Sacramento that close to Old Town."

"This property has trash everywhere. Homeless people are walking around on property while security is on grounds. The bathroom smells like mold. Carpet is filthy. Cracks are in the hotels room walls. People can be heard fighting all hours of the night and the staff is not welcoming."
