We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Phillipe le Bon. The restaurant was probably one of our favorite things about the hotel. The food was amazing and the staff was fantastic.
The one concern we had was around the maid staff. They left our hotel room door wide open after cleaning the room, several times. We mentioned this to the front desk and the response we got was along the lines of "they always do this" and they didn't see anything wrong with it. I have concerns with our belongings being left wide open for any one in the hotel to have access to.
Overall this 5 story Hotel/Motel had a very inviting 1st impression, also with the attached Restaurant as an extra facility, given the location is about 15mins from Dijon township.
We had an 'all you can eat' buffet dinner for $16Euro per person and I must say, the food selection was 6 star! The only criticism I have is the BED itself was very uncomfortable to sleep in, the mattress must be past its due by date. We found ourselves feeling like we had slept in a large hammock, which really lets the whole experience down due to such a minor detail which CAN be fixed!
The Comfort Hotel Dijon Sud and its restaurant welcomes you everyday in one of its fully appointed rooms. The hotel is easily …More
we enjoyed our stay in Dijon...and the hi-light was renting bikes and riding along the canal...and we stopped at one of the lock houses for lunch that was a spectacular day. As well we did the Owl walk around the old town and this was very informative and you get to see allot of the town. and another day we took the train to Bauone.
The hotel is located almost next to the train station which is very convenient for travellers relying on public transport.
The renowned mustard is still made here, but Dijon offers so much more. The capital city of Burgundy is also well known for its wine making. Dijon is a walker's paradise, with bustling pedestrian-only thoroughfares to explore, many lined with street vendors and cafes. And with most of its pre-WWII architecture intact, Dijon boasts a spectacular density of Gothic and Renaissance structures.
