"The villas was very clean, spacious and modern. We were there March 12-16 so very early in the season. The pools were closed which I didn’t know until getting there as it was shown when I booked that heated pools were all year round. There was apparently a sandstorm from Africa for a week prior to us coming which then closed the pools. The host offered us an extra night free however we already had our flights back to Athens booked so couldn’t take advantage of that. Michaelis offered a dinner for the 4 of us so we took him up on that offer and it was excellent. The location was pretty good, 20 min from Heraklion, beaches, about 40 min to the CreteAquarium. It’s a pretty quiet area that you are in, the locals are quite friendly and helpful
I would stay again as long as the pool was open as my kids felt the disappointment with it not being open. "
"The host was amazing. Very accommodating, great recommendations and very friendly. She met us off location and we followed her to the house. She shared her chicken eggs and in season fruits with us. The house was very clean and had many spaces for our group of 7 to relax together. The kitchen was very well supplied. The view was amazing. There are are outdoor spaces for grilling or games. HIGHLY recommend!!! "
"Our stay at Troullos Traditional Houses was wonderful! Our host Athena was fantastic - so helpful, welcoming and kind. We felt very well taken care of and supported in our questions. Our lodging was fully equipped with a small kitchen and everything we might need. The patio overlooking Mt Juctas was a delight in addition to the beautiful courtyard. Highly recommend! "
AGRIELIA VILLA FAMILY - FRIENDLY VILLA IN HERAKLION CRETE
10/10 Excellent
"The villa is beautiful. It is very well equipped with everything we needed - we really couldn't fault it! It's very spacious, with seating areas outside at the front, back and on the balcony, so there's always a sunny spot (or shady spot if you prefer!). The beds are very comfortable, and all the bedrooms have air conditioning so it's very pleasant even in the height of summer. The pool is a great size and provided so much fun for us all. Stelios, the host, is so friendly and helpful! The village of Sgourokefali is lovely and quiet, and the locals are very friendly. It has a very small minimart with basic groceries, and a bakery selling fresh bread and delicious fresh pastries, so you don't really need to leave the village! Episkopi is a 30 mins walk away where there are more shops including 2 larger supermarkets, a taverna and a lovely (and very reasonably priced) restaurant which we ate at quite a few times. We decided not to hire a car, but on the days we did leave the village, we used a taxi, which cost between 40-60 EUR each way to places like Knossos, Heraklion and Water City. It was easy to get a taxi at Heraklion airport when we arrived, even though there were 5 of us. The same taxi driver gave us his number and we messaged him on Whatsapp when we needed a taxi during our stay, and I'm sure others would do the same.We would definitely stay here again, and would recommend it to anyone!"
"The views from the hilltop were spectacular and we loved sitting outside with our delicious breakfast. Our accommodation was spacious and comfortable and as the final days of our trip this was a perfect wind down. I would love to go back for longer"
