Limited Restaurants.

Nice property, very nice rooms and a very nice small beach near a much larger beach. There are very limited restaurants nearby and if you want to go for breakfast I was told I needed to take a US$8 taxi ride each way along with a 15 minute wait each time. I had booked this hotel so I could go paddleboading and called ahead to make sure rentals were available, but the next day after checkin both rental locations were closed on weekends.

Dear Harold, it was unlucky that one of the restaurant on the beach is closed for renovation and that - being low season - some of the sea activities have a reduced opening time during the week. we hope that you still enjoy the peace and quite that the low season can offer. thank you for your visit. the Manager

The customer service was beyond excellent. Everyone from office staff to maintenance to housekeepers were so nice. And willing to help in any way. I had an issue with my WiFi staying connected. But apparently it was only my phone that was the issues since everyone else could get on just fine. And they tried everything to get it fixed. But nothing worked. One side of the bed wasn’t very firm and when told the staff they were willing to try and get us changed. But it wasn’t needed since we had a large bed. The staff did indicate the mattresses are only 1 year old

The staff were very helpful in booking trips and restaurants and were very knowledgeable. A car is definitely needed to explore the island alternatively plenty of taxis were available. Very expensive to eat out.

The Buccaneer Beach club is a small resort right on the beach at Dickenson Bay. The rooms are arranged in blocks of four (two up (with balconies and rear access) and two down (with patio area used as access)), plus a couple of cabins nearer the beach. We stayed in room 9 which is an upper room and the nearest the beach. From the front we overlooked the gardens, pool and BBQ area, from the rear we could see the beach to the south and the sea. The grounds are well maintained with a small pool (adequate for the number of guests), a BBQ area (which can be reserved with the front desk) and flowers everywhere (attracting lots of humming birds!). the various trees and plants even have descriptions on them for the curious and there are descriptions of the birds that visit too. The rooms are comfortable with a sizeable bedroom with a TV, adequate storage, safe and air conditioning. A big shower room/WC. A large living room/kitchen with a fridge freezer, twin gas hob, microwave, table top grill, kettle, coffee maker and plenty of pots and pans should you want to cook!. There is a further big-screen TV in the lounge and a further air conditioning unit. Overlooking the gardens is a small balcony with a small table and a couple of chairs (ideal for that early evening cocktail!). The rooms are cleaned every day. Just hang the "please clean" or "do not disturb" sign on the door and the friendly staff will not disturb you. As is the case these days, towels will be replaced if left on the

The beach is beautiful and the hotel has reserved beach chairs & umbrellas for guests. The pool was nice and relaxing. The property is due for a renovation, but provides sufficient amenities to ensure you’re comfortable during your stay. Note that the adjacent Coconut Grove restaurant is closed for renovations, so there is no food or drink service available at the beach (I.e. byob).
