Schon 2015 war ich auf der Suche nach einem Ort, von wo man diesen 8000-er sehen kann. Auf gut Glück fuhr ich damals mit dem Bus nach Baglung, sah ein Reklame-Schild für das Peace Palace Hotel mit dem Dhaulagiri darauf, ging dorthin und fragte nach dem Dhaulagiri-Blick. Vom Dach war der Berg damals in Wolken verhüllt. 2020 konnte ich den Berg an allen Tagen sehen. Im ganzen Ort sah ich keinen westlichen Touristen. Our room was clean, comfortable and fairly quiet. I was surprised to find that they aren't able to include a top sheet on the bed. The staff are excellent. Breakfast is very nice. The food is generally very good. I appreciated that the produce grown on the hotel's farm is featured in most dishes. The only dishes I would not recommend are the pork chop, which was mostly fat, and the whole trout, which was not cleaned well. We haven't used the sauna. We were surprised to find that it is not an included amenity. The massage at the spa is excellent. The travel desk provided good service. We hope that their drivers will be taught the drop off spots for popular treks. We were grateful to be able to leave our extra bags here during our trek. We plan to return here on future visits to Pokhara.
