Nice hotel.. Stunning views over the golf course

Posted 04-Aug-2015
Friendly staff, clean rooms but a little dated, lovely food both at the atrium restaurant and terrace bar and grill. Stunning views over the golf course and I'm not a golf fan. Good spa facilities but if you're wanting treatments book well in advance. Clean, warm pool, jacuzzi and steam room. I will be returning :) I have to keep writing apparently I only wish I'd drove a golf buggy... More writing?? Come Expedia... It'll only take 1 minute they said????

Pleasant stay

Posted 04-Jun-2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Put a fridge in the rooms and black out curtains
Location: Walking,running,cycling....seaside not far
I had to stay in Exeter an extra night and I booked the same day, the hotel has great surrounding and good facilities. the room are clean and simple a little on the small side. Overlooking the dining room causes a bit of disturbance with light in the night. ROOM SERVICE very good. Staff at reception helpful and friendly but the nicest was the staff at breakfast. good stay

Good hotel for stop over on way down to Cornwall.

Posted 25-May-2015
Pros: Facilities, food,staff.
Cons: Pillows!
Quiet golf hotel near Exeter, stopped there for one night on way down for early morning event in Cornwall. We wished we had stayed longer, or got there earlier in the day, as we arrived too late to use the pool or other facilities. The only issue of note were the terrible pillows, I can't imagine from where they could actually have sourced them! (take your own!) We ate at the golf club, which offered a good choice of specials, high quality burgers, fish and chips and steaks. The food is produced in an open kitchen, with restaurant standard service. Breakfast was also very good.

Disappointing

Posted 17-May-2015 on Hotels
First impressions were good. The hotel is set in beautiful surroundings. Our room overlooked the golf course & was clean & well-appointed. The reception staff were efficient & welcoming. Unfortunately the rest of the staff had apparently received very little training, & customer service was severely lacking & made worse by poor understanding of the English language. The decor in the main hotel dining room was dark, gloomy & uninviting. We elected to have our meals in the golf clubhouse which was much lighter & brighter. However the menu there was very limited. We mentioned to reception that we had not seen the Manager during our stay & were told that there was no one manager in charge but lots of different managers. This may account for the rather lax standards.

Not the best night's sleep

Posted 03-May-2015 on Hotels
For a modern hotel, I was surprised at the noise transfer through rooms. I could hear snoring from another room and conversations very clearly along with bathroom use first thing in the morning...not much chance of a relaxing lie-in! Breakfast very nicely done with attentive staff. Leisure facilities good but pool used for children's swim class at the time that I visited...so not the most relaxed experience. Room very clean, but bathroom finishes a little tired. Lovely views over Golf Course in my room.
