Great golf, nice hotel but NO WIFI

Cons: No wifi, reception attitude and lack of warmth or understanding
Location: Great location in area of natural beauty
This hotel has potential to be exceptional if only they can brush up on a couple of key factors. Reception and wifi. The golf, rooms, food and general hotel ambience is superb. What lets it down is that there is no wifi which when questioned was told it is terrible and there is a desktop in reception that can be used. On advising a rather uninspiring and uninterested reception desk they did not care and when asked for the manager to write to for feedback they said he rarely opens his e mails so if you want a response to write to reception. Mmm but if you are also not happy with reception?

Cons: wi fi terribly slow. it would put me off staying again.

Cons: Disability aids, dedicated cart, more handrails
Location: Seemed quite isolated for an overnight stay but we did not have much choice given the availability at short notice.
Booked in the a.m for an overnight stay as we were viewing properties in area. I am partially disabled having difficulty walking but enjoy go golf and decided to ht some balls before I left. They need a disabled cart for this as it is a long way from the pro shop, there are no handrails anywhere on steep steps around the shop. We thought it unusual that one has to park away from reception before one can book in. Other than that it was nice stopover with an excellent meal and attentive staff

Pros: Das PUB mit Meerblick im Keller Super Bier, Leckeres Essen
Geschäftsreise daher spät eingecheckt ohne Probleme, Zimmer in einem sehr guten Zustand alles ist in einem neuwertigen Zustand. Der Service war Hervorragend egal ob an der Rezeption oder im Restaurant

Great room and amenities but wifi abysmal, I was unable to log on to my work portal it was that bad, so if you require good wifi for your stay, find another hotel!

Clean and comfortable rooms but the walls seem paper thin. We could hear conversations of people in next bedroom and in room above. Could also hear people using the toilet in room above! BUT the food and service in the golf club Terrace Restaurant was excellent and really saved the day!

On this hotels website the Rooms are quoted as 4 star luxurious! The room was very small, bedding was cotton with ripped edges, pillows flat or solid!, duvet too small for the bed. Headboard totally covered in thick dust, husband has a sore throat and cough now. The bathroom was tiny, the plug in the sink was loose, it has become detached from the sink. Loose wires on bathroom heater, all electrical points last test 2008!! Curtains at window on metal pole, away from window, so at 06.30 the light streamed through the room. The cleaners cupboard next door to our room so noise from there at 07.00hrs. The sound proofing in the rooms is very poor, you can hear a conversation from below and next room. We were 2 floors up directly above bar, on the second night there was a function, the music was terrible, on speaking to reception the on duty managers reply was ' you booked through Expedia, the music will continue as it is until midnight'! When I spoke to the manager about the faults his reply was ' it depends how you consider luxurious', if you had of booked through hotel directly we would've been able to help you, but you have booked through a 3rd company, which I would never recommend'.... I told him that a lot of the hotels custom must come through 3rd parties, so that is a poor statement.... The hotel manager was disinterested in our comments and there was no apology regarding anything.... Very poor indeed, certainly does not warrant 4 star!!

Great Mini Break

Great room with big bathroom, lovely food in bistro on both evenings, and plentiful breakfast in restaurant. Friendly staff. Really enjoyed our break here in such nice surroundings.
