Used this hotel as base to visit the area.

Posted 23-Sep-2016
Pros: Quite location but easy access to places round about.
Cons: Hot breakfast could be hotter.
Location: Exeter is very close and driving to a Park&Ride was ideal. Torquay is also a very nice place to visit.
Very nice location and hotel was very comfortable. Staff helpful and efficient when we required them. Room and facilities were very good. The only negative point was that the hot breakfast, wasn't. Luke warm, would best describe this.

Awful aircon and hotel rooms very very hot!!

Posted 08-Sep-2016
First glance, nice hotel, a bit tired looking but nice pool and gym. A bit if a musty smell about the place too. Aircon non existent and rooms way too hot to sleep in. I had the added drama of the room above me flooding in the middle of the night and leaking into my room. Staff were very slow to help but eventually realised that I couldn't stay put for the night and gave me an alternative room with no window! ... which was even hotter!!! PLUS they charged me for the night even though I spent most of the night packing my bags, moving rooms and unpacking! When I complained they offered me the night for half price. I was so put off I left a day early. #poorcustomerservice

Great golf, nice hotel but NO WIFI

Posted 06-Aug-2016
Pros: Golf, room size, breakfast
Cons: No wifi, reception attitude and lack of warmth or understanding
Location: Great location in area of natural beauty
This hotel has potential to be exceptional if only they can brush up on a couple of key factors. Reception and wifi. The golf, rooms, food and general hotel ambience is superb. What lets it down is that there is no wifi which when questioned was told it is terrible and there is a desktop in reception that can be used. On advising a rather uninspiring and uninterested reception desk they did not care and when asked for the manager to write to for feedback they said he rarely opens his e mails so if you want a response to write to reception. Mmm but if you are also not happy with reception?

Woodbury Golf Park stay

Posted 19-Jul-2016 on Hotels
We stayed for the night as my husband was playing in a golf tournament. Unfortunately, I couldn't get a very good deal on the room price. I used the gym facilities in the afternoon, which while not large, had enough equipment for a good workout. We had a nice Seafood platter in the Bar and a good nights sleep in the huge comfortable bed. The only downside was the fire alarm test going off just as we'd settled down for the night. Although I suppose they have to make it realistic!! Otherwise a pleasant stay.

Lovely setting

Posted 17-Jul-2016
Pros: Setting
Cons: Disability aids, dedicated cart, more handrails
Location: Seemed quite isolated for an overnight stay but we did not have much choice given the availability at short notice.
Booked in the a.m for an overnight stay as we were viewing properties in area. I am partially disabled having difficulty walking but enjoy go golf and decided to ht some balls before I left. They need a disabled cart for this as it is a long way from the pro shop, there are no handrails anywhere on steep steps around the shop. We thought it unusual that one has to park away from reception before one can book in. Other than that it was nice stopover with an excellent meal and attentive staff

I recently stayed here on business and would definitely return. The staff were extremely helpful throughout my stay and nothing was too much trouble. I had a room overlooking the golf course at the back of the hotel and sat outside on the balcony which was lovely. Unfortunately dinner wasn't so pleasant. I ordered the plaice which looked beautiful but I had to remove thick bones from my mouth with every mouthful which wasn't so nice. The vegetables and potatoes were lovely and fresh, but unfortunately as the fish was such a let down, my dinner was ruined. The gym was a good size and has all the machines, weights, kettle bells you need. Hot breakfast was made to order and was of a good quality. Overall a pleasant stay and when returning back to the area, I would stay in this hotel again - maybe just avoiding the fish for dinner!
