Ok hotel

Clean and comfortable rooms but the walls seem paper thin. We could hear conversations of people in next bedroom and in room above. Could also hear people using the toilet in room above! BUT the food and service in the golf club Terrace Restaurant was excellent and really saved the day!

Very relaxing

Posted 18-Jan-2016
Pros: Everything
Cons: Bed was slightly hard for my taste
Location: Very good location which is handy for Sidmouth and other coastal resorts.
Excellent pool. How do they prevent condensation on the windows? Therapy staff were brilliant and the facilities were modern and well laid out. Room was clean and modern with view of the golf course. Would certainly visit again.

Four Star Hotel, with Five Star Service.

We checked into the hotel with ease. They then advised us what was going on in the hotel. They then gave us access to the hotel facilities. The general bar complex and golf club was fantastic. The food and drink was great value. The bedroom - we had 110, was a little dated, but very clean and tidy. The bath and shower leaked water onto the floor. The bathroom did look a little tiered. The hotel is rated 4 star and this did show with the rest of the facilities. The Spa was super and had a really nice large swimming pool, no deeper than 1.5m, so an adult can stand anywhere in the pool (temp was great - just like a bath), the spa pool was very hot (maybe a bit too hot) and the sauna a great place to meet and talk with other guests. The Spa is also used by the public, so can be quite busy. Towels were provided. The hotel restaurant was exceptional dining. Out of season they did a meal special package for 3 courses + glass of wine. The meal was as good as any top London restaurant, but not London prices. Their food is sourced from local producers and this you could really taste, as it had a lot of love and care from the chef and staff. The food was plated like ART. Exceptional. Also on the complex were: Squash court, 2 tennis courts, golf course, full gym, beauty salon and much more.. This hotel was a great find and really value for money. We were not disappointed and easily forgave the dated and tiered rooms.

Tired hotel, could do with an update to rooms and communal areas. Spa and pool facilities are great though so make up for it..

Potentially very good, needs some staff training

Posted 24-Sep-2015
Pros: Space, facilities, rooms, great gym, good food
Cons: Staff approach to customers
Large scale complex. Great room, well appointed and overlooking golf course. Service and food in Atrium bar / restaurant good. Very bad experience with rude staff who blatantly ignored me twice in Terrace bar / restaurant which ruined the whole experience (I walked out, which is unusual for me).
