The Silverton Inn

Posted 20-Feb-2016 on Hotels
I stayed here as a stopover for a weekend's training in Exeter. The room (no.6) was large and bright, although a bit chilly. I think the heating was being temperemental when I arrived but the extremely high vaulted ceiling and upstairs ensuite didn't help. Staff were generous and welcoming; the cooked breakfast was huge and well-prepared; and the room comfort (apart from heating) was spot-on. Parking wasn't too bad but there's very limited parking in front of the Inn. The ensuite was tiny but clean and functional. Took about 20 mins to drive to the centre of Exeter. Would recommend for a rural retreat.

Very impressed with the standard of the accommodation and the food delicious. The friendiness of the of the owners made ourstay complete. 20 minutes from Exeter made it worthwhile for us. Would recommend the Silverton inn to any one.

Good accommodation at reasonable price

Parking limited to public car park about 100yds away. Narrow country lanes. Excellent food, but very popular with locals, so can get very busy, especially on 'pie' night.

Only one night and we knew the Inn well having lived in the area for many years. Food was of the highest quality, room was good and comfortable but the shower was awkwardly placed in a bath and did not work efficiently. Main external problem was parking the car.
