Thatched roof farmhouse converted into hotel.
First the positive, quaint 16th century farm with thatched roof and low wooden beats throughout. Home cooled meals with decent ingredients, and adequate preparation. Quiet atmosphere, far from any public transportation. In other words, middle of nowhere.
Desperately in need of renovations. Retrofitted shower fixture in a bath from the sixties was a huge dissapointment. Grungy carpet in the bathroom, mouldy, dank smell not the least bit diminished by an ancient pot of potpourri in the room. Bath not at all spoc and span, and as mentioned outdated fixtures with decayed wood toilet seats.
It the place was advertised as a B&B with prices about half what they are then perhaps it might garner a recommendation from us.
