Perfect for Exeter city centre

Posted 20-May-2017
I picked this B&B as it was near regular buses to and from Exeter city centre although it was just as easy to walk there and back in the morning. My room had a double bed with an en-suite, small TV, kettle & tea and coffee which was fine for me. However, the double-glazed windows which I expected to block out the noise from the main road outside had air vents above so it was louder than expected early in the morning. The breakfast was waitress served from a menu so everything was freshly made to my specific request. In addition, although I had checked out, the staff let me leave my car in their car park whilst I walked back into town for the morning which was very kind and saved me paying for parking.

Roomy with good breakfast

Posted 19-May-2017
Pros: The staff was helpful and the breakfast room was well laid out. The food was very good and promptly served.
Cons: We prefer white sheets rather than dark and would like a quieter location.
Location: Within driving distance to Exmouth and some of the interesting locations to the west.
We used this location as a base while exploring Devon and part of Cornwall. The room was spacious but it faced a busy street that was a bit noisy.

Adequate for one night

Posted 31-Mar-2017
Pros: Shower, parking
Cons: Breakfast process re information Lift
Location: Access to A30
Not as good as reviews had told me. Being on top floor made it hard work with luggage and no lift. Attic room slope of ceiling meant I cracked my head twice though consciously trying not to. Breakfast was unclear as to how to obtain it on entry and I had to ask waitress for each part of it. On plus side the shower was very powerful and there was free parking. Would not stay again however.

Efficient and friendly staff. Pleasant clean room with comfortable bed. Tea and coffee facilities. Rooms at back are quieter. Would have liked another bedside table.

Bed & Breakfast Hotel in Exeter

Posted 13-Feb-2017
Pros: I only met two members of staff; the receptionist and the breakfast waitress, but both were very helpful, and both spoke good English.
I booked a single room. The cost was excellent, especially as it INCLUDED a beautifully cooked and hot breakfast. The location a brisk but flat 20 minute walk from an excellent choice of restaurants for dinner at the Quay. However the single room was very pokey, with no chair in the room and only a very small flat screen T.V.. (I had wanted to watch the England v Wales Rugby International). The room was cold when I booked but they did put on the heating when requested. (Apparently on a timer.) The shower room had a heated towel rail but it didn't work and the toilet 'drizzled' all night. There was good guest sitting room facilities - though no-one was using them during my stay. It is situated on a main road and the traffic noise was noticeable until very late.

A Convenient Hotel

Posted 01-Dec-2016 on Hotels
This is a delightful hotel run by a group of young ladies (or maybe it was just their turn) who were polite, friendly, helpful and cheerful, even at 7 am and 11 pm. Carolyn, the receptionist, was truly delightful. My room was a small double for single occupancy (room 32) and whilst it was simply furnished it was elegantly presented. The en-suite was small but more than adequate for just me. With fresh towels each day that were lovely and fluffy and, what's more, large enough to use too! Thermostatic control of the radiator is important to me as I like to sleep in a cool room, but in the morning they heated up very quickly to make it warm in the room when stepping out of the shower. My breakfast was cooked to order and I received exactly what I asked for - none of this 'one size fits all' approach. I would highly recommend this hotel. It is clean, tidy, well presented, quiet and in a great location for access to the city and junction 31 of the motorway.

Clean and functional.

Good value for money. Very clean and good food and service. I had a single room, all fine but let down by 'tired' pillows and well-used bedding. Would still return.
