Nice hotel- horrible/snobby staff!

Posted 23-Apr-2016
We pulled up and parking was expensive with very limited space (£12 a night) I expect with a nice hotel to get parking included! Very impressive entrance hall , but we felt very uncomfortable and rushed through out the whole trip. We were looked down up for asking questions and I didn't find them friendly one bit! Maybe because we didn't appear rich. That is how we both felt.

Central Location

Pros: The rooms were very comfortable, quiet and clean. The bathrooms were luxurious, spacious and modern. The on-site car park was convenient and secure.
Cons: The bathroom needs better hooks for hanging towels. Hotel bar could be opened longer.
We had an early morning appointment at the university and stayed here for just one night after a long drive from London so we were not able to take advantage of most of the hotel facilities. Although the hotel is within walking distance to the city, it is rather far from the university and we had to drive.

Decent hotel, well located but expensive extras

Posted 15-Mar-2016
Rooms like all hotels are variable - but perfectly adequate for a short stay. The hotel is well located just a short walk from the centre. There are good gym and pool facilities - a definite plus. Food & drinks while good tend toward the expensive and minimal. It's disappointing to say, but unless on an expense account, you are better off walking into town to one of many restaurants nearby.

Pros: Reasonably placed for the City Town Centre
Location: Plenty to do nearby, visit to the Cathedral and the quay. Lots of very nice shopping.
A very pleasant stay. Lots to do in and around the hotel. Places to visit and very good shopping

Excellent hotel in central location

Stayed in a twin room with my son as we visited the university. There was a large car park for which you had to pay. Reception staff were very nice and helpful as was the restaurant staff for breakfast.

Super swim

We paid £20 extra per night for a delightful upper floor room overlooking the Cathedral. The first room we were given was ground floor where we would have needed to keep the curtains shut most of the time as was overlooked .
