Lovely B&B in the Devon countryside

Posted 04-Jul-2016
Pros: Location, peacefulness, & host....
Cons: We liked it just as it was..
Location: We attended Races at Newton Abbot & a music event at nearby Powderham Castle. The house is close to Exeter.
Stayed for two nights whilst attending local events. The B&B wasn't easy to find at first but once there we loved it. This is a somewhat old-fashioned B&B run by a lovely lady. On arrival we were welcomed with tea & cake and chatted through our plans whilst sat in a conservatory overlooking beautiful peaceful countryside. Our room was traditionally furnished (twin beds) and very comfortable. Breakfast was terrific, best we've had during many hotel stays over the past few months. If you choose to stay here you need to know beforehand that the location is a little used narrow country lane at about 400yrs further up the lane that the Sat Nav thinks.

Pleasant stay on a beautiful location.

Posted 16-May-2016
Pros: The entourage of an English cottage, so cozy and warm.
Cons: The Wi-Fi could be better, there was hardly any signal in the guestroom. But working on the kitchen table, close to the router, made it possible.
Location: The location is beautiful, such a sight and relaxation. A wonderful place to come to a rest. Close to the small town of Exminster and close to Exeter.
The Belvedere is a B&B with a beautiful view to the country sight; just outside Exminister, with the possibility to visit all kind of places in the neighborhood. After arriving, the welcome was very warm and friendly, together with a nice cup of tea and self-backed cake. Not really a place for a business stay, due to the Internet connection, but a place to stay for holiday or sightseeing.

As this was a stop over I was not concerned about shopping sightseeing etc. The neighbourhood did not score full marks because I found it difficult to find. A sat nav is not terribly helpful. I am sure in the daylight it would be no problem.

Warm welcome, comfortable and amazing views

Posted 22-Feb-2016
Pros: As above
Cons: I was delighted with everything
Location: It is central for visits to many beautiful and interesting places. As my visit was to see friends I did not explore,
Set in a beautiful, peaceful area with panoramic views from the elevated position. Within easy access of Exminster and an easy drive to Exeter and M5. The accommodation is clean and comfortable and the welcome afforded by the wonderful, helpful hostess is second to none.

Only a brief overnight stay. The gps took us thought very narrow roads so better to get directions from the owner on how to get there

Great B&B with Fantastic views over a working farm

Posted 06-Aug-2015
Pros: The rural setting and the views
Cons: nothing
Location: The town of Exeter is about 10-15 minute drive away, with plenty of things to see and do. We travelled around a bit and used this as our base.
Frances is a wonder, should be wrapped in cotton wool and preserved as a national treasure. This B&B is set in a rural setting so you need a car to get to it and it is worth the drive. Nothing was too much trouble for her. The views from the conservatory are stunning. We were made to feel very welcome and next visit to the U.K. would definitely stay with her again. Would highly recommend this accommodation to all.
