Comfortable stay close to the City Centre

Posted 26-Dec-2015
Pros: Proximity to the City Centre and all the tourist attractions; nice, clean and well-furnished room
Cons: The welcoming courtesy and the breakfast
Overall a comfortable B&B to stay for a night and explore the city. 15 min walk to the City Centre with many restaurants around and the Underground Passages, 20 min walk to the Cathedral, and 30 min walk to river Exe & the quay. The double bed room was nice and clean equipped with all the essential amenities including an antique cabinet but the breakfast was only part of a full English breakfast. There is a small car park behind the hotel with space for about 4 cars but I could not be allotted a space when I arrived so I had to pay to park at the car park opposite. The B&B advertised to have free self parking and free parking nearby, yet I had to pay for parking on the ground that I did not give notice of my arrival by car.

Voor deze prijs verwachtte ik wat beter. De kamer was overduidelijk al een tijd niet meer schoongemaakt en het beddengoed rook niet fris. Tevens bleek bij het ontbijt niet al het bestek en servies even schoon...

Nice B&B close to city centre

Posted 01-Dec-2015
Pros: Close to city centre, warm enough in November, nice shower, could not hear traffic noise, polite welcome, good breakfast.
Cons: Some mouldy wallpaper from damp problem in room, soundproofing not great through floors.
Location: Far enough from noise in city, but not much of a walk.
Lovely stay, not far from city centre. Good location for visiting.

Good location

Visiting granddaughter at Exeter university. Booked in for two nights at Edwardian B&B. Ideal for shops-Restraiunts- Coach station-Train station.etc. Very clean, good size room, and a brbreakfast that will start your day well, limited parking. A bit pricey for a B&B, but would go back.

Good location, room needed a damp-proofing course

Posted 09-Oct-2015
Pros: Good location. Old-fashioned, even antique furniture and accessories.
Location: Good location close to city centre.
Staff very pleasant and helpful. Good breakfast in attractive dining room. Very unfortunately, my room was extremely musty because of 2 large patches of black mould.

Close to the city centre

Posted 21-Sep-2015
Pros: Close to the city centre and long stay car park opposite
Cons: 24/7 wifi, checking the toiletries and refreshments
Stayed one night to attend an event in the centre of Exeter which was only a short walk. Room was a small double which was clean. There was no coffee, biscuits or soap provided and only 4 teabags so attention to detail was lacking to check the room before we booked in .Once we realised,we could then not find anyone to request the missing items but I know they had a family party to attend. The bed was ok but seen better days and the free wifi seemed to get switched off late in the evening when I wanted to catch up on some emails which was annoying. There were also some damp patches on the walls.Breakfast was ok, cereal, juice, fruit, filter coffee. Was served between 8-9 but no menus to see what was available, full English included a small bit of bacon overdone and poor quality sausage but I liked that the beans were put in a seperate pot.Owner was friendly.Overall though not what I felt was good value for what we paid or would I stay again.
