Relaxing Weekend
Had a wonderful two night stay here. We were very well looked after. The food is just amazing. Very quiet with a homely feel to the place. Can't wait to go again.

Quiet comfort
We were greeted as friends when we checked in and offered tea and cake. Although we hadn't booked dinner, we had no difficulty in having a light supper of delicious French onion soup. The rooms are delightful, with a mix of modern convenience and antique furniture, so excellent wifi as well as interesting features.

Perfect week
The most peaceful and comfortable hotel I have ever stayed in. Set in beautiful countryside. Lovely, friendly, helpful but unobtrusive hosting. Lots of thoughtful touches to add to our sense of being welcomed and cared for. Highly recommended.

Very welcoming with cup of tea and offer of a piece of cake. Delicious breakfast, comfortable bed. Sorry it was such a short stay.

I was welcomed at the door by Tim and offered a very welcome coffee and biscuits after my long day. The room smelt fresh and was clean. The food was excellent and plentiful. Robert and Tim made me very welcome. I will definitely be stopping there again

Stayed two nights over Easter :hosts/service very welcoming room very nice good size compared to standard corporate hotels.... bathrooms need updating though that aside would recommend a visit

Traditional furnishings, excellent service.
Very easy to find and a warm friendly welcome with tea and cake served by an open fire. Rooms are traditionally furnished, spotlessly clean and bed firm but comfortable. Added bonus to have fresh milk in a fridge on the landing, as we hate those little plastic pots of UHT milk. Breakfast was excellent, with everything brought to our table. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Superb Hotel Superb Welcome.

made to feel welcome
had quite a problem finding this place not very well signed posted was made welcome when you booked in. Bed not too comfy especially if you have back problems quite low to get in and out had too ask for extra pillows which we received straight away, It was no problem breakfast very good , No matter what hotel you stay in we could all find a complaint because no place is like your own home.

Peace and Quiet
If you want a peaceful getaway this is the ideal place the gardens are a pleasure to explore and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would go back again. Robert the owner and his son Tim are excellent hosts and the service was excellent also the extensive menu.

We recently stayed at the hotel as we were attending a wedding in the area. The hotel was lovely and the hotel staff were fantastic and couldn't do more for us! If you are looking for a hotel in the area I would definitely recommend and will be staying again if I am ever in the area

Court Barn Hotel - We loved our stay
This hotel is a delightful place to stay and an excellent focal point, from which to visit some of the major tourist sites in Devon and Cornwall. Robert and Tim run this as a family business, the personal touch makes the stay that much more special. We visited Newquay, Penzance and Bude on our stay and they are all reachable by car

Great home from home
If you like staying in a old country house with lots of character with hosts who treat you like friends you'll love the place. If your looking for a slick nondescript spotless hotel then it's not for you. We loved it!!

A good stay for one night
The service and the welcoming was superb. Lovely lovely people indeed. The house is an amazing property in a wonderful setting. We were welcomed by lovely tea and carrot cake! It however does need a lot of upgrading from the bathroom to the decor overall.

A small family-run country house hotel in pleasant grounds near the village of Clawton. Appropriately furnished and decorated, with lots of interesting pictures on the walls. Excellent breakfast. The only minor criticism is that the bed was very hard. Good parking.

We had amazing views from our room, we were greeted with a beverage and a slice of cake. We went out for dinner. The bed was very comfortable. I would highly recommend court barn country house hotel.

Nice country house hotel
Stayed for 3 nights, breakfast included. We're upgraded due to being the only people staying due to out of season. Staff were friendly, considerate and helpful. Breakfast was good with food sourced from local farms and cooked fresh to order. The room was spacious, warm and well furnished with the only drawback being the door on the end suite not able to lock. It was quiet being in the countryside but there is a town nearby for anything that may have been forgotten. All in all, a lovely place to stay!

Wonderfully welcoming owner and son. They could not have been more helpful. And breakfast & dinner were just brilliant. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for peace & quiet. Such a tranquil location.

We stayed here for 4 nights with my wife and 20 month old son it is a family run House by a father and son. We were given a warm welcome and throughout our short stay were waited on hand and foot. The food, both breakfast which was included and dinner a paid option was excellent, the room number 5 we were in was very spacious and very clean and the Country house well presented throughout with plenty of character and the grounds looking out over the fields were lovely to wake upto. We managed to leave our sons DVD remote in the room and Rob contacted us within an hour of us leaving and offered to post it to us free of charge. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again or recommend it without hesitation to anyone else that likes family cooking and a genuine friendly atmosphere. Thanks Rob and Tim for a wonderful stay.

Quiet Country retreat
The hotel was quiet and set in lovely grounds which we were free to roam around. Th ehotel was nicely furnished with a victorian feel, befitting of the age of the building. The staff were friendly, the breakfast excellent and the comfort very good.

Very comfortable lovely old hotel with lots of reading material and a cosy log fire on arrival lots of nice homely touches the hosts were also very friendly and easy going. We stayed for dinner and the food was good wine list extensive! We enjoyed our stay very much

Only stayed one night on business. Hotel not obviously sign-posted in village (sign for Hotel which I followed as village is small so unlikely to be too many hotels around). Lovely grounds and hotel very nice, albeit a bit tired. Bed too hard for me and I did not sleep well. On the other hand, the hosts cannot do enough for you and the food was very good.

Really enjoyed the stay. Sue was a wonderful hostess. Delicious breakfasts too. My only comment would be that the bathroom was very old fashioned and had a few cracked wall tiles and stained grouting/ sealant in the bath/shower area. Otherwise the bed & room were very comfortable.

Wonderful traditional retreat
A thoroughly relaxing place to stay. A beautiful old building full of charm and warmth. Fantastic cooked breakfast and very personable owners. We would definitely stay here again. Ignore the 2* rating by AA, the Court Barn is far nicer than most 4* hotels in London.
