Beautiful hotel and building. Only issues were small things, like not having any hand soap in the bathroom, no fan in the bathroom, and no coffee maker in the room.

I really did not appreciate that I reserved the room 2 months prior for a king size bed and was given a room with 2 double bed Why reserve a head of time when its going to be given to someone else. We were there with a whole group of people and they received breakfast vouchers for their inconvenience and we were not given a damn thing!!!

I love this hotel. A little expensive for what you get, but it’s a great place to stay. The beds are beyond comfortable and it’s so quiet.

The lady checking us in told me they didn’t have a room with 2 double beds which is what are reservation was for. After about ten minutes of back and forth and flashing a ten dollar bill at her she magically found one. How convenient. Literally 30 seconds after I gave her a ten dollar bill. Things shouldn’t have to be done like that.

We were impressed with the style and appearance of the GMC Renaissance Marriott but our room was just ok. There was no soap in the bathroom, towels were rough, and tub drain was clogged. IMO the pillows were uncomfortable, slept terrible. My husband didn't appreciate that you had to pay for coffee at the prices we paid to stay.

Our stay at the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center was deeply disappointing, particularly due to the staff's handling of our UPS packages. We had four critical packages delivered for an event, all signed for by the hotel. Upon arrival, requesting our packages seemed to inconvenience the staff, who took an agonizing 45 minutes to retrieve them. Worse, only three of the four packages were returned to us. The missing fourth package was a significant issue, yet the staff's response was shockingly apathetic. They claimed ignorance about its whereabouts and expressed that they didn't have time to search for it. This lack of professionalism and disregard for guest needs is unacceptable, especially when time-sensitive events are involved. We had to proceed to our event without essential materials, causing unnecessary stress and complications. The next day, our departure was overshadowed by the same unhelpful attitude; the staff still couldn't locate our package. This experience has seriously tainted our view of the Detroit Marriott at the Renaissance Center. The inefficiency and lack of concern for guest property and needs are not what we expected from a Marriott establishment. I am hesitant to recommend this hotel based on this experience.

The ice machine next to our room emitted a beeping sound, which we found annoying. The in and out parking was very frustrating, as we had to get a parking attendant every time we exited the garage. However, we found the staff pleasant and helpful. The room was comfortable as well.

Very old and dated property. While clean it did NOT merit the $500 a night rate. Front desk was less than friendly checking in. Also PAID that $500 for a QUEEN Double and DEFINITELY tried to sleep in 2 full sized beds instead. Very uncomfortable night as I kept falling out of my side of bed.

Girl who checked us in was not friendly, no welcome, never looked up from computer. Most others working there nice. Rm is adequate, needs upgrading. No info in rm for hotel or hotel services or the surrounding area. A bottle of water might be nice. A small card saying 'welcome, if you need anything please call the desk' would be nice. no vent/fan in bath. no magnifying mirror in bathroom. Towels nice-generous size. Smoke in hallway concerned me when I went to front desk they said, "oh yeah, it's from the steak house don't worry about it". Noise at night- like an alarm going off intermittent through the night. Was expecting more from Mariott property.

Room was clean. Great view of the River. Convenient location to activities we were doing. Only issue is there was no daily cleaning service. Asked for a couple clean towels one morning at the front desk. It never happened. Had to ask a second time later that night. Overall, nice experience though.
