Location, location and location. Spitting distance from Trafalgar Square, close to two underground stations. Bus stop in front of hotel. Free laundrette is great for extended stays (where do you find that in hotels anymore). Really posh and well done lobby and lounge. There are two Pret a Mangers close by, a Cafe Nero downstairs and several great other cafes restaurants within 3 minutes walk. I have stayed in London many many times on both business & pleasure mostly at large chain hotels (4 or 5 star) and find The Grand at Trafalgar a better value for money.

The welcome to the hotel was fantastic and the staff treated us well. Since the television in our original room was faulty, we were upgraded to a larger room with more space and a bigger bed. It was a kind gesture by the hotel staff.

after a hassled first night we were given a nice room which I was expecting anyway in the first instance. Why one has to kick up a fuss to get what one deserves and expects. We had a nice quiet room with lovely views. Breakfast was not included, but there are plenty of caffees near by to choose from.
The shower in the room was not working properly as some part was missing. Quite inconvenient.
