Beautiful, but shallow on functionality. No place to put things in bath room, for example. Must lay clothing, etc., on floor. Only one chair in room.

    "Great hotel - excellent location"
Very good hotel - ideally situated just off the Royal Mile and close to the town centre and transport links. Standard of décor and cleanliness very good. Stayed in the Classic Deluxe room which was a little on the small side but perfectly adequate for a short stay and good value for money. Our room was at the back and on a low floor so we didn't experience the view but it was very quiet. The room and bathroom décor both very good. Didn't use the microwave but the fridge was a very useful addition.

    "Fun, modern hotel"
We were very pleased with this hotel. It looks new and very modern. It had a modern self service check-in compared to checking in with an employee. They have a fun "living room" area where there are couches and chairs for you to hang out or do work on. There was also a small bar in the living room where I assume you could order drinks or light snacks. The room was very small but we were only staying for one night so it worked. We had a standard King size bed and the TV mounted at the end of the bed which was nice. I would stay at this location again and also would stay at another CitizenM if it were in the city I was traveling.

The hotel is right next to the central station which is also convenient to the downtown area. It is 131 years old, but very fancy technology inside the room. The food is great. It is over my expectation.

"Nice hotel if you can find it........"
Got a good deal at the last minute for an overnight stay in Aviemore. First issue I had was that I would be arriving after dark and I had never been to the hotel or resort before. Why is this a problem? Well, upon driving into the resort I noticed that the road signs were unlit so I couldn't see directions to the hotel. Also when I stopped to see the signs that were there it still wasn't obvious where my hotel was! Eventually found it only to discover it closed! Tried phoning the contact number from Expedia which didn't work. Found the resort number on line and was told I was booked into a different hotel in the resort (which was also difficult to find due to lighting/signage/one way system issues). Hotel check in was fine and room itself was very nice. Down to on-site restaurant for an evening meal which was nice but expensive. Service was slow so be prepared to wait a while. As a price reference a bottle of Bulmer cider was £5.00. Next morning had a good breakfast from a substantial hot and cold buffet service. Even got gluten free toast! Check out was quick due to having no additional costs although the receipt I got indicated a total cost £20.00 less than the Expedia charge. Queried this to be told by the receptionist that the £20.00 must be the Expedia fee. Unsure if this is true but don't remember having this issue before. Overall a nice hotel but difficult to navigate resort and restaurant is expensive.

"A mediocre hotel with wonderful possibilities"
This hotel is has changed greatly in the last 15 years. It definately needs updating. My main complaint is the dinning room which is quite the grimmest restaurant I have ever been in especially at breakfast time. It is in a wonderful situation overlooking the Cairngorms, near Loch Morlich. It is a shame it's full potential has not been exploited.
