"Great location, but crappy parking situation"
The location is very close to the Royal Mile, so you can walk to many things. IF you are taking a car, be prepared to walk a bit to and from it. The parking is down the hill from the hotel at Waverly Station, and the walk back up can be taxing. Also, the entrance to the car park is a bit harrowing. The bed was too hard for me, and the pillow choices weren't much better. The reception staff were alright, but the restaurant and bar staff were loads of fun (except for one).

"Okay if you need a quick stop."
My friend & I were breaking up a long drive north with a stop around Edinburgh with our stop here. The rooms were very comfortable and it was a great place to rest for the night. The hotel restaurant was really good and the prices weren't crazy. My only complaints are a couple issues with some of the staff, most of whom seemed pretty unfriendly. The first issue was check-in where the lady working the desk was a bit gruff. I'd booked the two twin bed room with the option that came with free parking as we'd have the car. We asked about parking as there was a ticket gate and she said it would be £4. I said I booked our room with free parking but she claimed they didn't offer that on Expedia. I used the mobile app to pull up my booking and showed her where the included amenity on my booking stated free parking. She begrudgingly agreed to give in to the free parking and seemed pretty surly about it. Our second issue was on check-out with the room charges when I questioned the total as being more than we spent. The problem was a bill from stopping in the hotel bar to get hot chocolate to take up to the room. We didn't notice when we signed the bill the evening prior that a £50 tip had been included on the bill for our two hot chocolates (that were £5 total). I pointed out the exorbitant tip on the bill and the staff on the desk said it was probably an accident from when the bill was keyed in and quickly took the charge off the bill.

Checking in was quick and easy there was a member of staff to help if needed, the room was small compared to other hotels but was big enough for a one night stay loved the shower/toilet room and the use of a mini Ipad to control everything was great. The road outside is very busy till late buses run constantly so can be noisey we heard them at 3 am.There are plenty of pubs bars restaurants in the area and George Square is only 5 minutes away.

    "A little disappointing "
First, we got put in the wrong room, staff changed over and were very apologetic, we weren't too fussed about this. We then got to the right room and there was a very weird smell. Next week tried to use the air con and it didn't work properly. Then I went to use the toilet and the toilet is in one room and you have to go next door to use the sink and this is where the shower is too. Very weird and annoying if you ask me. Cleaners very noisy before 9am, on a Sunday morning when check out is 12pm I wasn't best pleased at getting woke up. On the plus side they allow animals and gave my puppy a toy and the reception staff were friendly.

Friendly staff, comfortable surroundings and good facilities and parking. The hotel staff had made guests aware of problems with a boiler making some areas of the hotel cold. So these rooms were out of use for dining but this was well communicated both verbally and with notices around the hotel

    "Great hotel centrally located"
I was very pleased with my room, it was big and very comfortable. The staff were polite and professional, all except for the one I spoke to about the noise at around midnight on the 25th of December. My only complaint was that I was on the side facing Union Street which is very busy and very loud due to the many pubs and bars that are located up and down this street......it would have been helpful if this had been mentioned and I could have possibly requested a quieter room.
