Good commercial type hotel. Great location near train station and bus stops. Royal Mile only a short walk up some steps. Breakfast good self service. Did not like lack of teapots - tea bag in cup is a bit basic. Room clean and comfortable but a bit dated. Had an evening meal and it was first class with good service.

    "Very accommodating, great location "
We arrived from the states around 10 am. They were able to get us into our room and a parking spot in the lot. When it was time to explore the city. They had good recommendations for spots to grab lunch. The location was great to go to Glasgow School of Art. Staff at the bar was very nice for nibbles that night and they were accommodating to our over sleeping the morning of check out. I would definitely stay here again when in Glasgow.

    "Beautiful setting and very comfortable"
The setting is lovely, and the hotel comfortable, nicely decorated and with excellent facilities. However, service could be better - we had to make up the sofa bed for our daughter, despite having booked for the extra bed. We also reminded the staff twice shortly after our arrival. They eventually brought the bedding for us at 10.30pm! There were also only 2 sets of towels, two coffee cups, two glasses in the room although we'd booked for 3, and no milk in the fridge. Once we got over this hurdle, it was fine. Breakfast was a bit chaotic (and be prepared to queue for some time to get in) and not conducive to a nice, quiet, leisurely start to the day! It might be an idea to have separate dining areas for couples/families with older children. Crying babies and unruly, badly behaved kids jumping up and down and running in between the breakfast tables/waiting staff isn't great for other guests or the staff. Gym and spa facilities were fantastic.

    "Great hotel."
Room was very clean and had all mod cons in good condition. Bed comfortable and room was quiet so had a great sleep. Good supply of tea and decaf coffee. Had asked reception to call a taxi but we were not called at our room when it arrived so taxi left. Excuse was that they called another room by mistake. They seem to use first names when booking which is unusual and said they called another Peter! The called taxi firm again but said we were in the bar! Thanks for that blatant lie. Ha ha. We had to queue for breakfast but the host dealt with getting everybody seated pretty quickly. Breakfast was usual buffet style all you can eat but we had to order tea and coffee pots which we reckon had been forgotten about as we had to ask for it again. Had an hour using the gym facilities which were all very new looking and had asked the receptionist to show us how to work everything. She obliged us but didn't seem to know herself really so we figured out the settings ourselves. Swimming pool and changing room were all good but the Jaccusi and sauna were both out of action which was disappointing . We paid extra to check out later (2pm) so we could use the facilities which was handy. We were pleased overall but a few sticking points.
