- Disliked: Staff & service, property conditions & facilities, room comfort
I am a Gold member of Hotels.com, staying in around 150 nights a year in hotels all over the world. I stayed at KEDLESTON on Monday and Tuesday nights. The hotel is not cheap. My fist issue is that on this site it states a restaurant and a full breakfast is available. The issue is neither is available on Mondays and Tuesdays. I had to arrange a takeaway and despite paying for a full breakfast, was not able to have one. Continental breakfast was offer as an alternative. This is made worse as the breakfast only starts at 8am, and, I was leaving at 07:30. The single employee on site shrugged their shoulders and simply said "we start breakfast at 8am". Great but a hotel that cannot provide any food for its customer is simply unacceptable. There was no coffee available in the room on the Tuesday. Clearly I was to have a bad day on Wednesday (and indeed it turned out to be that!)! Toilet roll holder falling off the wall in bathroom, towels not replenished. Room was OK, is small. Overall the hotel wants to be a premium product, wants to charge a premium price. Trouble is, if you want that you have to provide a premium product and this is not. Better service can be has at a Premier Inn, and food is available! Really disappointing.
