"Handy Hallmark Hotel"
Quick check in with friendly staff. Plentiful supply of tea and coffee in the room although there never seems to be quite enough milk left for the amount of sachets (this is the case in all hotels however...) Extremely hot water meant we had to be careful in the bathroom although personally I prefer this option to only having lukewarm water. The bathroom itself I think was beginning to look a little tired but it was fine for our stay.

"Friendly , stylish hotel"
We stayed for one night as we were going to a family gathering in Denby, and even though the hotel was very busy when we arrived ,due to a wedding taking place, the staff were very welcoming ( the staff member on reception took us to our room personally) . We went down to the bar for a late lunch ,and it was delicious and extremely good value for money, and again the staff were very friendly and attentive. We slept very well, in an Executive room, and the breakfast the next morning was very good indeed. We were only sad we weren't staying a second night!

"Very pleasant stay. "
Had a friends party to attend at this hotel and did consider other hotels that are local as there are a lot. Glad I didn't we had a great night, the staff were very helpful and friendly room was nice, warm and comfortable had a great nights sleep. Some aspects of the room and hotel are looking a tad tired but it was clean and all in all a good stay and would do again if the occasion arose. Thanks to all.

"Excellent in every way!"
Just loved this hotel. It was easy to find in beautiful surroundings. The Receptionist was welcoming and efficient. We had the best cream tea when the waitress presented us with a specialist tea box with an array of teas in delicate jars (not in bags) and freshly baked scones. Our room in the cottages was warm and cosy with every amenity, comfy beds, classy toiletries and fresh (yes fresh) milk for our beverages. Dinner in the brasserie was excellent with an impressive wine list. The breakfast table was the best I have seen in a long time and again the breakfast staff were friendly and helpful and impressed us with their obvious love of the hotel. Nothing was ever too much trouble for all the staff. Upon check-out, the Receptionist (a different one) took time to recommend local places of interest. Alll in all a lovely hotel experience and one which I would like to repeat again and again.

    Pocket Guide: Derbyshire Derby Hotels

At the centre of a network of A-roads (with the M1 nearby), served by excellent rail links and with East Midlands Airport just 20 minutes away, Derby is an easily accessible city. Popular with those looking for an extended stay, couples wanting to enjoy some quality together and businessmen stopping for meetings, the city is packed with things to see and do. There’s an eclectic range of accommodation in and around Derby, from small, comfortable guesthouses to upmarket modern hotels and business stop-overs.

From Romans to Rolls Royce Luxury Cars: Hotels in Derby

Hailed as “the crossroads of history” by the Sunday Times, Derby’s roots can be traced back as far as 80AD, when it began as a Roman fort. While it was famous for its porcelain in the 18th Century, it wasn’t until the Industrial Revolution and the Age of Steam that Derby really found its footing in the world of business. Iron foundries sprang up and the city became the main manufacturer of railway engines. The 20th Century saw Derby making engines for aircraft, and Rolls Royce even opened a factory there. The city is littered with remnants from its past, from impressive buildings such as the Derby Silk Museum to the dark fascination of Derby Gaol.

    Hotels near Attractions

With many of Derby’s attractions being central to the city, the majority of Derby hotels are within easy reach of famous landmarks. The Hallmark Hotel Derby Midland is just a short walk from the stunning Arboretum Park, while the Jury’s Inn Derby is practically a stone’s throw from the boutique shops and superb restaurants to be found in the Cathedral Quarter. Even those on the outskirts of the city seem to have something of interest nearby: the intimate and charming Priest House Hotel is just a five-minute drive from the majestic Castle Donnington.

Derby: Perfect for Business or Pleasure

With plenty of excellent restaurants and bars, Derby is perfect for those entertaining business guests or visiting for meetings. However, many of the hotels, such as Hotel Aston, have their own restaurants and conference facilities, allowing you to conduct business and relax in one location

Derby is an eclectic and vibrant city with plenty to offer, including some excellent hotels and B&Bs.
