Rooms smelled of animal urine. Could see the stains on carpet, Had to ask to be moved to a different room. Felt uncomfortable and unclean. Staff was nice but quality of the actual hotel was very low

Asked for rooms side by side. No elevators. Friend had foot surgery and my husband had prostrate surgery. Not easy

Cheap, but that's about it.

Pros: Price.
Cons: Condition and cleanliness.
We were just taking a quick sleep, so we went cheap on a room. The bed was not very comfortable and the sheets weren't clean to my standards. The AC was luckily on, because we couldn't adjust it. There were holes in the wall that hadn't been fixed. The staff was ok, but there were plenty of other guests that made me feel uncomfortable and they were noisy. Which also made me concerned when the latch lock did not work in our room. There was a fridge and microwave, but no options for drink vending machines, so I had to go down the street to a gas station to get anything to drink. Overall pretty disappointed, and would probably spend the extra money to stay somewhere else next time.

OK as a 'landing place'

Posted 22-Jul-2016
Pros: Close to the 25, and close to Village Inn Restaurant.
Cons: Stairs need to be redesigned for safety, beds need to be more comfortable.
Location: We didn't do anything in Castle Rock. Drove to Colorado Springs, Aspen and National Park.
This place is okay if you want something cheap and are only sleeping there, although I must qualify that, as the bed was very uncomfortable. Luckily we were very tired from driving around all day, so we were able to sleep. If you have to use the back stairs, be very careful. There is a huge, glaring design flaw in the stairs. One flight of stairs has steps that you cannot fit an entire foot onto. The rest are fine, but this one flight, I stumbled a couple of times. There is no elevator. The location is good, right off of Hwy 25. There is a Village Inn Restaurant right next door that is great for breakfast. Don't bother with the Continental Breakfast - it is kinda lame. We had a light go out during our stay, and the front desk clerk came up immediately to investigate (it was a faulty outlet). He moved some plugs around, and it was fine. This was the one positive thing about the stay.
