Not a nice location.
The manager/reception was rude. They did not give us the Twin Beds I booked well in advance. The food was mediocre. A rat ran under our table while we were having breakfast. The room was dirty. No tea coffee provided. The Electric Jug was filthy. I was unable to use my credit card to pay the bill for our food which caused us a great deal of inconvenience as we had not many Rupees left.

Unprofessional Staff
I had initially booked the hotel for two weeks, after reaching found out that hotel was very dirty, bad location, there was construction work inside the hotel without any signs posted. Inside the rooms were humid and were mold build up. The beds were not clean and the rooms were dark. When I cancelled my booking after two nights the hotel didn't refund the remaining 12 days. So basically I paid for something that I didn't use.

Dear Guest, I agree from the location point of view, Since it's the old city area of Delhi, Few nearby areas might be dirty however there no issue at the late hotel actually located. I disagree with your feedback about unclean rooms, dirty beds and lined since it's not possible to stay at such a place for even 02 night. We are always ready to listen your issues & resolve them, this issue was brought to our notice during the stay. We have not refunded the remaining nights money as per the cancellation policy mentioned on Expedia and all partner channels. This was the only issue and might have led you to write such a review. We take care of all our guests very well and could not initiate refund without any valid reason. Thanks for staying at Hotel The Raj!

THE MOST TERRIBLE PLACE IS THIRD WORLD HOTEL

We apologies for the inconvenience caused you, we had some issue in 2-3 of our rooms that day, so you had to wait a bit to get the rooms. However all problems are fixes & rooms are same as shown in pictures, we are done with the renovation & maintenance work at the hotel. Hotel Room was full of Roaches and insects
Room was full of roaches and other insects. Asked front desk, was told they can get it sprayed but I have refuse it as no alternate room was offered and was not looking to inhale insecticides along with roaches. Staff was rude as well. I had asked for a cup of tea, answer was they have ran of milk. Asked for a bottle of water, no response for an hour after 2 remainders, decided to go out and bought it myself. Please make a booking at your risk.

Well, I would like to mention that we have very well understood your concern & the issues raised during your stay & tried our best to resolve all. Regarding roaches in the room, we have sent our housekeeping staff to look in to the issue, however there was none at that time, however we recommended that we can still spray the repellent to prevent roaches if you have seen any which you have denied. Staff was rude - I strongly disagree on this point. Since our staff is very much courteous with all the guests & behaves well. I personally investigated the issues raised by you and learned that we have been unable to accommodate your late check out request since we were booked to capacity, only after that we received all the complaints. We understand that as a human being & a guest at our hotel you might fee bad, however you were free to sit in lobby till you wanted, same has been accepted by you. I request you not to put false reviews since it gives a wrong impression of the property on other travelers. very dirty and staffs are not friendly.
Most filthy and dirty hotel I have ever encounter. Staffs are not friendly. Door mate are so filthy - it stinks. Faucet in the wash room not working. TV and AC is not working. Room service person is staring at my belongings and seem a habitual thief. Trying to get hold of my things at the slightest opportunity.

WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE…
I went to New Delhi thinking I found a very nice hotel according to the pictures on the web. I originally booked the room via travelocity.com but I was extremely disappointed when I got there. The hotel was dirty as hell from the outside of the room but I had booked a Deluxe room which had a king side bed and a nice and spacious room so I thought once I got there it’d be different. I was wrong; the room was extremely hot even though the A/C was on, a ceiling fan spinning at the highest speed with no control available, the bed’s linen were dirty and the pillows were wrinkled you could tell they were not changed. Only one towel was available and it had stains all over. The bathroom without sanitary paper available and the walls full of fungi as well as the floor. Totally disgusting. In addition to all of this, the hotel is located in one of the most dangerous zones there so it wasn’t safe at all. Do not be deceived by the pictures, sadly as it turned out they are not accurate AT ALL. I spend the first night without sleep, I left the Hotel in the morning.

Very bad experience staying at Hotel The Raj
Our room was not cleaned at all.The bathroom was very dusty and had no toiletries.Wifi was not working .We had to shift to another clean room at 11 o clock at night.That room was also not good.Tables were dusty.We had to call 5 times for getting a toilet paper.The AC was noisy like hell and the bed was also very smelly(naphthalene balls). We had booking for two days but we could not stay so we decided to leave the hotel and shift to a new place. The manager was very stern and took charges for the day we didn't stay saying that booking cannot be cancelled same day.He was not responsible for the bad experience we faced. He was very irresponsible and answered very badly for all our complains. Overall it was the worst experience we ever had.

Pathetic hotel in Paharganj
Hi all, I have booked this hotel for three days. Facilities given by hotel was terrible. There was no room service, their telephone was not working, no hot was in the bathrooms and top of that complementary breakfast was refused to serve on the first day. Their restaurant person were fighting in front of the guests and were creating a very big scene. I have left the hotel on 2nd day of my booking because of these all issues. I suggest everybody to avoid this hotel at all cost. Santosh Kumar Tiwari booked from 25 feb to 28 feb 2017.

For Budget Travelers.
A reasonable priced and affordable hotel. Situated in the center of the city. Rooms may not be of a five star quality but is definitely one that provides for a comfortable stay sans all the high fashioned decor. The rooms are done in simple touch and the beds are good sized with comfortable bedding. I was happy to see that the house keeping maintained the rooms diligently throughout our stay.

Decitful Place; Incompetent Desk Staff
I stayed here two weeks before and there was no Internet except in the lobby. Hoped that they would have fixed that, but no. There was still no Internet, and this causes tremendous problems for foreign tourists who generally don't have a phone that works in India. Also, their website says 'Free Breakfast', but no such thing; they do have a restaurant in the hotel building, but they don't serve any breakfast. It was cold and I asked if they can get me a portable heater for the room. The desk staff told me that he would check if they had one. Half hour went by, hour went by, many hours went by, no answer. They didn't even bother to come and tell me if they would have one for me or not. Here are three things that I would like Expedia to take up with this hotel and all others in India: This hotel, (and I believe others in India too) ask customers for a) Father's Name, b) where you are coming from?, and c) Where you are going to after leaving the hote. These are my personal information, and hotels should not ask. A government does have the right to ask, but not a hotel. I am told that this is because of some archaic policy that has been inherited from the British Colonial times. A hotel must verifiy a customer's identity to ensure that the person is who he/she claims to be, but no more personal information. Hotel employees are not government employees, and they should not be asking these questions. I have traveled dozens of countries and nowhere hotels ever asked these questions.

There is no hot water for shower. The staff asked for our passport to scan 2 times during our stay. In fact, they found the original scan in their saved file, and they still insisted to scan our passport the second time.

The personal is very kind especially Vir who if you need something always help you. The rooms is good but not have soap and toissue toilet . the area where is the hotel is very crowded but is very close to train station New Delhi in fact if you need go to Old Delhi train station you only need get the metro the next station is the right. The hotel is close to conaugh place you can find where eat and shopping.

Great value
For the budget minded traveler, Hotel Raj is an excellent choice. The location is close to other hotels with plenty of rickshaws and is within walking distance to the New Delhi Train Station. I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights at the beginning of my trip and one night before departing from India. The hotel and rooms were clean. I always had electricity and hot water, although the hot / cold for the shower was opposite of what I expected and the nozzles were labeled. Staff was always available, even at 5 am and very helpful. At the end of my trip, a handle on my carry-on duffel broke. The porter noticed and offered to take it to get fixed. For a small amount, he took the bag, had it fixed by one of the many street side sewers and returned before I was finished digging through my main suitcase for the items I needed for that evening. Seriously super fast. There is also a travel desk to help with any needs and they arranged for my taxi back to the airport and helped to negotiate a reasonable rate. The only confusion is there is a hotel nearby called Hotel Raja, so just be clear to drivers. It is just around the corner from Hotel Krishna.

Nice and Clean Budget Hotel with Friendly Staff
First thing about how to locate this hotel. The Google map happens to be often wrong for countries other than the US. Don't confuse this hotel with another hotel, called Raja Hotel. This has Arakshan Raod address but it is not on the main Arakshan Road. To get to this hotel, as your enter Arakahsan Road from the East Side, go 100 yards until you see Hotel Goodwin on the left side. After hotel Goodwin take the first left turn into the street, and you will see this hotel to your right at the corner of Arakashan Road and this street. I was at this hotel from about 3 AM to 12 PM for about 9 hours after arriving from an International flight and needed to shower and a short nap. The best aspect of this hotel is its hotel staff, especially its manager, Sunil. He wa up late in the night to make sure that I am put in a nice room. It worked out well for me. For the price, it was a clean hotel with clean bathroom and clean bed, and that's all I needed. The Wi-Fi was good. In the morning, I needed to use a computer rather than using the small screen on my cell phone, and they gladly offered me to use the computer that they use for their own business purposes. There is a restaurant attached to this hotel, but I didn't have time to use it, and so can't comment, but it looked nice. On my return too I wanted to book this hotel for one night, but I was hijacked by my relatives in Delhi. Otherwise, I would have stayed here.

A very good hotel for short/long family stay.
This was the second time I stayed in Hotel Raj and I am happy to write that my decision to stay here was right. I stayed there for 4 nights in total and the service during this time was wonderful. This is one of the cleanest hotel to stay in this area. I would certainly recommend this to everyone.

Close to ND Railway Station and to the main road are the main advantages of staying here. It is not a 3 star hotel as advertised. Triple rooms are not big and the rooms are very dark. We were a party of 3 adults and 2 children coming from Kolkata. On arrival the hotel manager was doubting our booking through expedia! He later on advised us to take lunch at their sister hotel Aura at their rooftop restaurant where food quality, quantity and reception was suboptimal. We went out of the restaurant unfed and agitated and been never back there. The hotel manager later on apologised. The rooms lights were not working and it took them 1 day to sort the same. Single towel, poor lighting and lack of window in the room doesn't give the hotel a good feel. It is close to the thoroughfare road and always dusty, crowded and dirty outside.

clean and value for money
What a nice hotel! Location ok. The rooms were clean, plenty of space.The breakfast was ok. a very busy and dirty street. The service is fine as the staff are friendly. At first glance, the room seemed fairly clean, however, they did not change the linen after the first night, and there were some bed bugs. Since I was in the compact room, The on-site restaurant has good food, but it's definitely pricey.
