Clean and accommodating to our late check in. Please note that the front desk closes at 10pm - so call ahead for late check in. Breakfast was amazing! ❤️

Hotel was clean, quiet and very hospitable. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially with a payment issue that we had. Breakfast was plentiful with good hot and cold options. Family room was very big and comfortable. Parking excellent just outside the entrance. Would recommend and stay again when next in Gent.

We had a lovely stay. The staff were very kind. You can book the pool for a private swim for an hour each day, which was great after exploring the city on foot. Beautiful house in a nice area, close to the train station.

Fabulous individual hotel near Ghent centre
This is an interesting building art deco style in a splendid location on the tramline into Ghent. The staff are amazing, nothing too much trouble .recommended 10/10

Great spot in Ghent, just out of the city but close enough with the Tram, lots to see around Ghent and the staff were very helpful to give recommendations

Not how I expected
First impression: When me and my family entered the hotel, the young woman in reception wasn’t friendly and welcoming at all. I don’t know if was it because we were a brown family or Muslim! Because they’re well-behaved and smiley to other people, their faces get changed whenever they see us. Second thing: The room wasn’t smelling very good, it was smelling like piss, But clean. The room was big btw and the toilet was great too. The best thing about the hotel is the Pool, a lovely indoor private pool.

Great stay, good 4 families, easy access to centre
What a wonderful place to stay. Fully enjoyed the lovely setting and super kind staff. Stayed with my family (four of us - two being little rascals). The room was really spacious, clean and had an easy access outside through the sliding doors. The garden in front of the hotel is very enjoyable and calming - kids loved it. The breakfast was very tasty and with good assortment to choose from. The hotel is one big old-style house converted to accommodation and this gives it such a nice character - really enjoyed it. Finally, the staff are super friendly and nice. Had a lovely chat every time. Especially with the manager's parrot :)

Great location very close to transport. We had three in our party and were pleasantly surprised at the size of the accomodation. Very good bathroom and shower facility. Comfortable beds but dreadful pillows

Will be back for another visit.
After realising we would potentially be late for check in and ringing the hotel staff were exceptionally helpful to make sure check in was smooth for us. Room was very spacious and comfortable. Stay not long enough to use all facilities such as pool but we will definitely be back. Great location for easy access to Ghent.

Nice older hotel.
Nice older hotel, large bedroom with good sized en-suite. Comfortable bed. Self service breakfast, lots of choice, even gluten free cereal and muesli and also available until 11 am so no rush to get down stairs too early. Free parking on site, electric car charging available too. Easy tram ride into centre or 30 minutes walk past lots of churches and museums and through nice parks. Very nice Italian restaurant, Sole D’Italia, a few minutes walk away. Reception very helpful. Fridge in room always useful. Small pool in the basement, very warm! Woken up at 6-6.30 by people leaving/breakfasting or talking at reception as our room was above breakfast room and reception. Otherwise a good stay.

Great Hotel for Weekend Away
Perfect hotel for a weekend trip to Belgium. Very easy to drive to with plenty of car-parking. Tram stop to old town is 200M away & journey takes 10 minutes. The hotel itself is very comfortable and the congratulations to ALL the staff who were always very helpful/friendly. It will definitely be my 'goto' hotel for future Gent weekends

You won't be disappointed
I always choose this hotel due to its location, close to the university and train station (5-10 minutes walk), not your mainstream hotel room this has real character, decent Italian and Greek restaurant's nearby. Staff also super friendly and a decent breakfast selection.

Lovely hotel - huge and very clean and comfort room. Carlos on reception could not have been more friendly and helpful - we arrived much earlier than our check in time but our room was ready so we were able to check in and he showed us how to book and access the pool and also provided a map and guide and advised where to catch the tram into town. The pool is quite little but you book a one- hour slot just for yourself/family so it is more than adequate and also lovely and warm! Hotel location is great - around 10 mins into the beautiful town on the tram and we walked back which took about 45 mins. Also plenty of places to eat in the evening within walking distance.

Welcoming stay.
A lovely stay at Hotel Orion. A very warm welcome. We really appreciated the map on arrival and instructions as to how to get into Ghent, we were only staying one night and might have missed visiting thw beautiful centre. The room was a great size with older children and breakfast was lovely. We will hopefully be back! Thank you.

Good location and fascilities. There’s no air conditioning so if it’s warm do not open the windows as we got eaten alive by midges. There were screens up on one of our windows but it didn’t work. They did offer us a plug in but that was when we were checking out. I was sharing a room with my 15 year old daughter and she found it uncomfortable that there was no wall separating the shower from the main part of the room. It was just tucked around the corner and when the light reflected off the windows you could actually see into the shower from the main part of the room.

Dear sir, Thank you for the feedback and sorry about the trouble... Your room has airco now that was ordered in may this year... the screens, treatment and plugs should prevent any mosquitos from bothering you. Closing one of the curtains eliminates any reflection. We could have changed rooms at check in...We are sorry you only showered your grieves at check out or in this review; we would have loved to help you, even in the middle of the night chasing a mosquito.Kind regards

Lovely hotel within walking distance of Ghent, tram stop and train station. Nice breakfast buffet and front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Large parking area so no issue, or cost, for parking car. Would definitely recommend.

Great hotel in a quiet location with good transpor
We chose Orion Hotel as it was a short walk or 2 tram stops from the main Railway Station. A lovely art-deco building with generous outside space. We had a warm welcome from the lady on reception, in fact all staff we dealt with were excellent. The double room was huge and located at the rear of the hotel, it was very quiet and no noise from outside with the window open overnight. The bathroom was also huge, with a superb shower. There was a minibar plus complimentary tea and coffee. The room had a sofa and table and chairs too. We didn't use the swimming pool or sauna on our visit. The only slight negative was the aircon wasn't working, although a fan had been provided. It wasn't an issue on this visit, however if it was warmer I'd have asked for a different room. We didn't have breakfast which was 15 per person. I'd happily stay here again and recommend the hotel.
