Nice hotel great central location but noisy
Two night stay at the Midland on a Friday and Saturday night, the room was very nice, extremely clean and very comfortable with a nice view over to the Manchester library and great central location, within walking distance to Deansgate, some lovely restaurants and bars and the Arndale centre
The Spa is very nice, the pool is small but was adequate and the sauna and steam rooms were lovely, I had a massage which was great and I would highly recommend.
As the hotel is beautiful is is very busy for functions, the downside of our stay was room on the second floor appeared to be directly above one of the function rooms, on both Friday and Saturday night functions were held and you could hear every single note of music/DJ comments made and played, we tolerated it the first evening and on the second evening checked with the reception desk what time the function would finish and were informed 1am, at 1:20am there was still a large amount of noise and we had to ring to complain, it did stop almost immediately following the phone call.
If I was to return to the hotel I would request a room well away from any of the function rooms as it did disrupt our nights sleep, when we complained at check out they did take off our bar bill which was generous and I am still waiting for a phone call from the hotel about this.
