We liked the hotel room. It was very spacious and had amazing amenities. The beds was super comfy and the room was clean. We didn't like that there was no free breakfast as listed on the site and that you have to walk through the casino to get to the hotel elevator. That is a hassle when you have a dog and are trying to wrangle a luggage cart. The elevator in the parking garage was also out of order.
Love this property. Staff is gracious and event venue is always so clean and well organized. We’ve been to Forks and Corks as well as concerts here and always look forward to returning.

Hotel was great! The rooms were nice, quiet and comfortable. Only complaint was that the casino was hard to get around due to how busy it was and the slots were very tight.

Would like the hotel to make better access to smoking guests. Had to go through two elevators , all the way through the casino to go outside.
I appreciate the no smoking facility, but making outdoor patios or something would be so nice- especially since most guests are in deadwood to enjoy gambling, drinking and entertainment.

We do have 2 hotel area smoking spots! One is off the 1st floor hall which takes you to a trail/hillside area that has a smoking area. The other is off the Pool Area deck on the Lobby level! I am sorry no one pointed this out to you! Your room key would work to get you back inside after you step out as well! There are two smoking areas in the Casino area as well!! On your next trip out, we will be sure to show you the smoking areas I've listed!
We had the best time! Staff is so friendly, very clean, and super close to downtown Deadwood! We will be back to stay!

Our room was next to the elevator so all night long we would hear the elevator and the people on it… very loud.. beds were not comfortable very hard.. the room was clean and staff friendly.. don’t know if I would stay there again.

Lorrinda,I am truly sorry your stay was a noisy one and that the elevator was part of the problem. A good nights rest is always important! We do have all new mattresses (we are used to getting compliments on them). If you decide to give our property another try, may I suggest requesting to be further from the elevator? That will help with the noise reduction?

WOOF-WOOF + Elevator fairytale
Need to rename it Deadwood Mountain Kennel. Two loud barking dogs make enough noise that I have to call the lobby. I stayed there a month ago and the one of the elevators was "waiting for a part" a month later same sign. I guess they A - Are too cheap to by it, B- there isn’t a machine shop in Rapid City that is competent enough to manufacture the part or C - It is easier to put the burden on the guest than to troubleshoot and repair the elevator part waiting story is just smoke and mirrors. This will be my last stay - tell the elevator fairy tale to someone who will believe it. You want a pigeon go to the park.

Hello Mr. Buckley!We are truly sorry to hear that you will no longer be staying with us! While we do understand your frustrations, as we feel them too! A - We are not too cheap to replace the Elevator parts! B - Finding the required parts and the correct specialist to install them has taken much longer than anyone expected. C - All of us here at the Deadwood Mountain Grand eagerly put our best foot forward to accommodate our guests needs, show them a good time, provide great food, awesome drinks, as well as a fun and Welcoming atmosphere! Handling problems that come our way as efficiently as possible with our Hospitality on our sleeves, is what brings our team together! There are just some things that are out of our control..... And the Elevator is one of those things! The individual with the barking dogs had decided to check out, within 2 hours of arrival, due to continuous barking (even while they were in the room) they brought the dogs due to an in-law's insistence! By offering to let them leave early, without penalties, turned out to be the better option for the majority of our guests. We truly hope that one day you decide to come on back and visit us... and give it another try. Until then, stay warm, drive safe and Happy New Year!
Great looking area's. The older buildings converted like this are so great to see the history in the area.

It was horrible, staff was rude upon arrival, no parking due to Christmas party, room heater did not work and hotel vending machines didn’t work either

Everything was pretty good, but the windowsill and some of the bathroom wasn’t cleaned very well. The service at the restaurant at dinner was very slow, but the food was excellent. The service at breakfast was good, but the breakfast was cold. The bed was very comfortable. I loved the sheets! I will stay there again. It was a good experience overall.

The furniture in the executive suite was very uncomfortable. It might be modern and looks nice but uncomfortable. Hate sitting on bed when I'm trying to relax.
