Depending on the room location (preferably downstairs/ground floor) the room is reasonably confortable. There are however a lot of insects in the room due to short doors. The service overall is impeccable which makes a one night stay great overall.

Not at all what I expected!
I was disappointed by the quality of the room. The beds were not very comfortable and seemed to be cheap spring mattresses. The wi-fi was intermittent. The power went out several times during the stay. The water from the shower sprayed onto the floor in PUDDLES leaving a mildewy smell in the bathroom all the time. The room and bathroom were old with many unsightly plaster patches in the walls. And worst of all, it rained while we were there and rain poured into the room to the point we had to move our suitcases off the floor and put towels in front of the windows. My mate said other Golden Tulip properties were MUCH better than this one, and we even contemplated moving hotels. Also, the hotel is only 4 or 5 floors in the property and the rest is business offices, apartments and retail shops.

I was very concerned to read your comments related to our rooms which I had to get in to that for the proper investigations finding out how/what happened for the guest to encounter such issues within the stay,What I understand in regards to the power is that there was a problem with TANESCO power cut that cause OFF/ON within the entire city but our engineers team were aware of the same and available making sure standby generator take over accordingly, same to the Internet stability, whilst most things are under our control we rely on the service provider to maintain our internet connections and due to a major fault the internet was down across many parts of Dar es Salaam. we are very disappointed that we did not meet your expectations in some areas and sincerely apologize for the inconvenience we caused you. but I am unable to find any report of you reporting this matters to either Housekeeping, Front Desk or Engineering. However, it has since been immediately attended to.I do appreciate the frustration these issues can cause, but a request to meet the Duty Manager would have resolved all of this before it got to this stage. Again I sincerely apologies for the inconvenience and do hope that you will give us an opportunity to serve you again on your next visit to Dar es Salaam.In the meantime, we assure you of our best attention.

The hotel is well places in the City Center, walking distance to most commercial facilities and dine-out places. Staff is nice and helpful. Breakfast is simple and good, with great view of the city. The provisions for toilet (towel etc) wasn't changed regularly, but had to be asked for.

My only complaint with this place is there was no local food on the room service menu. My first night i had to eat burger and fries. Also if you are a drinker this is a dry hotel( absolutely no Alcohol). Its centrally located which made it easy for ubers and taxies and lots of local food all around. The staff is also very very friendly and helpful. The best part however were the views of the city.

I like the location, in the centre of the city, but it can be hectic and it won´t be for everyone. My only criticism is that it is a big tall building with offices occupying many of the floors. The rooms start on the 15th floor. There are only 3 lifts (elevators) and they were often busy, so getting up and down can take a while. They are also small and cramped - not for everyone during Covid.

=The staff were exceptional. Friendly, helpful. Design issues in the rooms. Only one available plug. Pull out desk table was not robust to put a computer on it safely. No chair to sit at desk. Cupboards are open to full view. Should be screen to close them off. No trouser length hanging space. Breakfast buffet needs needs more imagination. The weekly evening buffet was really good. Simple but with imagination and very well cooked. The cooking and presentation of the a la carte items was excellent.

The place wasn’t the cleanest but the staff was great and friendly. At a certain time they cut the water off for some reason, and we had to call the front seat to get them to turn the water on. Also, there was a roach in my room. It was small, but still... overall, if I could give this a rating, I’d give it 3 out of 5 stars. The room was still nice besides all of that. And the views are impeccable. We had a deluxe room on the 19th floor. Would I stay again? Possibly.

We arrived to Dar Es Salam as a first stop in Tanzania, the location of this hotel is terrible and I’m safe I’d recommend to stay on Msaaki rather than city center more over the receptionist recommended a taxi for triple the price and it wasn’t a hotel taxi

it’s...ok
the hotel was ok. the room was pleasant enough, a bit dated. i was upgraded to a nicer room, which was nice. however, the party that was going on upstairs till the wee hours of the morning made me wish i’d not accepted the upgrade. the front desk personnel were extremely nice and efficient. i got laundry done there, it was in excess of twenty usd for half a load. it came back wet and none too clean.

Awesome staff and views!
Very convenient location in a very walkable spot. The staff are all very pleasant, friendly, and helpful. The breakfast is very nice and the staff are fantastic. The views are amazing! The room was a 3-bedroom apartment, very spacious, but somewhat dated.

Convenient and clean Dar hotel
Convenient hotel for Dar overnight! Easy Walking distance from ferry and not far to the airport (albeit we travelled early in the morning so there was no traffic). Pasta in the in house restaurant was also surprisingly tasty! Also really appreciated staff help early in the morning with getting a taxi. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again!

I am a returning guest to the Golden Tulip. This hotel is in a great location; the price is decent; the hotel is clean and comfortable; and the staff is friendly and helpful. I will definitely return to this hotel again and again.
