Quite honestly, for foreign travellers looking to see a bit of the Philippines.....don't waste your money on this resort. Our beach front villa with pool was fantastic however the service at this resort was very inconsistent (housekeeping, grounds staff, pool cleaners, service in the restaurant and room service) and the location too far out of the way to see most anything else. The beaches were nicer in Malapascua and Bantayan as well. We had booked for 13 nights and by day 4 were looking at leaving and going to another hotel in the south of Cebu, closer to all the attractions like whale sharks, water falls etc. No go, as we were told that once checked in we were responsible for the total cost of the stay! Also some price inconsistency going on - the front desk told us on a Sun that the price of an Island Hopping tour on the hotel boat was 18,000.00 pesos. Three days later when we enquired again with intention of booking, the price had jumped to 22,000.00 pesos. Of note, by using a tuktuk, local ferry, scooter rental and local boat off Bantayan we calculated the price to be less than 4000.00. Only one restaurant on site and although the food was good, service was very inconsistent and the menu quickly got old. Of note, there were no other restaurants within walking distance and even in Daanbantayan there was only one other restaurant serving the same type of food and a Jolibees. Relaxing trip, comfortable bed, friendly people but for the price, quite disappointing!

Our room was nice and spacious, and clean. Food was excellent, except for the Valentine's day dinner. There were two choices, and my wife had the pasta. Her pasta was cold and a lot firmer than al dente. The chicken parm was tasteless. My cheesecake for desert arrived at my table frozen. Can't even slice it with a knife. They should've stuck with native cuisine. My wife loves italian food, but that was nowhere near it. BTW, the front door entrance to our hotel is treacherous. The door landing was high, and you can't notice it because of the same color rug in front of it. I tripped on it, and bruised my toes. They should've at least put a sign there to watch your step. Ironically, it happened to my wife the next day.

I really wanted to like this hotel, and there’s so much potential with a pretty location and modern/high end villas and facilities. Back of house staff doing a great job on gardening, cleaning etc. Front of house staff very poor - lacked basic training, amateur skills. Examples- no idea how to make a gin & tonic, rice served to the table with cling film on, no one present at reception and no apology. Overall, a big shame as the place has lots of potential. Needs leadership and an investment in the team there.

Super friendly staffs. Small sized resort so it was pretty quiet. The rooms were so outdated. Furnitures were not in good condition and bathroom was the worst…. We had 3 rooms and they all were in same condition.

It’s a massive property with security guards 24/7 so ones safety and privacy are ensured. If you want peace and quiet this place is for you. Staff are friendly and helpful. The beach wasn’t that great, it’s quite muddy. We had the beach villa. Our private pool’s tiling looked old and needs attention. The hanging couch by a tree outside our room looked dirty so there was no point relaxing there. On our 2nd day, the tap leaked all over the floor seeping through the bathroom tiles. Again, poor tiling. The food in our restaurant was ok. Not the one that I expected from a supposedly five star hotel. All in all, our stay was average. It was not worth the expensive money for sure.

The hotel is high end, nice designed resort, design rooms. Everything is well maintained. The place is large and has a nice, quite, white beach and clean water. The vues are nices. Everyone of the staff is highly accomodating, polite, patient and friendly. The food is very good. I love this place and i am happy i did not stay at Mactan Island, but took the 3 hours drive to the resort. It is a great value for money, as this resort deserves his 5 stars.

The air conditioner of a $300 villa per night not work@@ The ceiling fan dont work at all. We were still SWEAT 4 hours after check-in. The front desk just kept ignoring us. She just said or what you want, what we want impatiently. We just need some basic function room, a $30 room can do better. Eventually we been switch to another villa, but after we unpacked again, the string of curtain by the tub just fall dawn. But we were just too tired to say anything, just cant enjoy the garden view in the bathroom in couple days@@ Then we totally missed our first dinner in the town, they were all closed.... The breakfast buffet was terrible and all the FLIES. Then from the 2nd day no breakfast buffet provided, they said cause dont have too many guests stay, yes, can totally feagure why..............

It was quiet and I was able to go island hopping right from the shore of the resort everyday. They had everything their as well for activities . Kayaks , sea-doo paddle boats , tennis courts , basket ball court . I received a treat every night in the evening. I thought that was a special surprise that I enjoyed looking forward too, and wondering what that might be .

This resort is truly a luxurious slice of paradise and worth the extra trek away from the main city. The resort has everything, excellent breakfast buffet, beachfront, restaurant, bar and pool. They also have a lot of Watersport activities available (many at no extra cost). We were fortunate enough to be there during one of the owner’s birthday and the family was generous to invite us to join them at Malapascua (a nearby island) and treat us to an amazing luncheon! The staff were all very attentive and professional, and the property itself was first class. I would definitely love to come back here again.

This is a 3 start resort at 5 star price. We had a number of issues when there - door which did not close, broken telephone for 2 days, broken bed sheet and ants in bed, food orders constantly not filled and watered down liquor. I would never again stay here again.

The property was gorgeous the staff was fantastic the food for the most part was mediocre they were out of a lot of things that we kept asking for end it would’ve been nice to know that they were doing construction work in the property before booking

Coming from Airport dont bother going.
The resort is too far from the airport. It eats up almost 1 day already. So to be charged that much amount of money is not that worth it because not so much to see either way. Everything is far from the resort. However the houses/rooms are nice. Beds are comfortable except for the additional bed.

Depending on the hour of the day, getting to/from the resort, would take anywhere from 3 to 4 hours, considering the traffic in the city/airport am afraid. (Considering, early mornings can take 2-2.5 hours). Once these basis are covered, the drive up north is effortless. Rest assured we are conscientious on the distance to all guests, as it would not be our intention to misguide. I didnt want to leave
Simply amazing ... its off the beaten path but worth the drive from Cebu City. I rented a car and drove us up to the location. Its a long slow dirve through the small towns there but once you arrive you realize it was worth it. We stayed in an ocean villa with the private pool. You cant ask for better than this! The resort is secured with a guarded gate 24/7 and the beach is private white sand and great views. Julius will take good care of you in the dining room. The food is excelleng with a LARGE breakfast ( included with the room ) fresh cookies brought to the room every night and there are so many things to say about this place and not many characters left. Horses were well behaved and a great little destraction from the beach even if you just want to go and visit. The trail ride is nice and they will make sure you are comforable before your ride. Just dont let this place pass you by !!!

Beautiful rooms but disappointed that the hot water was only like warm. For 360 dollars a night hot water should be standard. We were told all the rooms had lukewarm water. Not hit enough for a bath!

The entire experience was fabulous. From our initial contact to begin planning this leg of our vacation, to the final good bye upon check out, this has been a pleasure. The entire resort is top of the line 5 star. The staff accommodating and professional. If there is any negative to this resort, it would be the actual beachfront upon which it sits. The water is not typical Philippine beauty, however, majestic island hopping is on location. The room is one of the most beautiful imaginable. Anyone seeking a romantic get-a-way would be well served to contact Kandaya.

Great place. Nice location, excellent restaurant, good friendly staff, room needed a air freshener as it was musky,and with 1 request it was fixed. Shower needed some bleach to kill the mossy floor. A great escape for our 2 days.

The place is beautiful but very far from cebu city about 3-4 hours drive depending on traffic. It's a very private and quiet place, best for honeymooners and those who want to get away from the stress of city life. Service is excellent and the people are friendly. It is very expensive though. But you get what you paid for. Rooms are spacious and bathroom is clean. There was just a mix up when they charged me again for my extra guests. I had told them i already paid through hotels.com but they said I haven't. But everything was cleared up right away after i sent a message to hotels.com. And the resort said they will refund what was charged. Overall, my stay is very good.

Nice quiet hotel
I enjoyed my stay. It's very quiet, which I like, and secluded. During my time there I felt like I was the only one there. When reading other reviews, I do agree, you're kinda restricted to your eating options as there is only one restaurant. The pool was great though, as my party and I were the only ones enjoying it. It was odd that rooms are late to be cleaned there, as I was out and about and came back to room to rest at about 2 and it was still not made up. But they did come clean eventually. Overall it was good and I would return again.
