The man at the check-in desk was extremely helpful! As soon as I arrived, he automatically notified me that my tour guide for the following day's events had called for me, calling him back so I could speak with him. I definitely appreciate that he remembered to do so. The property itself was unique, very cute! The breakfast area was very nice as well. Great location.. train station, shops, and restaurants were all within a short walking distance. Overall I'd stay here again!

This hotel was truly unique! We had a very clean room with a balcony. Breakfast was great and I loved the open air walkways. If you're going to Machu Picchu, definitely stay here!

Gringo Bills has a central location near the plaza and friendly staff. The property unfortunately is in poor shape. The elevator broken, no functioning pool/spa as advertised, loose electric wires in the bathroom and poorly fitted doors/windows resulting in 1000s of flying insects in the room. Thankfully we had only one night here and they allowed us to store our bags while we visited Machu Pichu.

Gringo Bills served our purpose. We arrived in Agues Caliente a day prior to our hike to Machu Picchu. For one night the hotel met our need. The staff was friendly and personable during the stay. The room was clean. Based on reviews the hotel did not exactly match and was not what I expected. It is very very dated and needs a lot of updates. The remote was missing in our room and when attempted to ring front desk, the phone was not working properly. The front desk clerk was kind enough to meet me halfway because there are ALOT of steps. But that’s just Peru in general 😊. The rep informed us that none of the TV’s on our row were working :( disappointing but okay. We had a early time for the mountain. The tile in the bathroom gets very slippery so care is necessary when entering and exiting from the shower and room in general there is only one small rug in front of shower. The noise at night between tipsy tourist and someone filling the hot tub with energetic children in the center of the hotel is a bit disruptive but folks are vacationing so not hotels fault. Overall, if you are looking for a clean, very basic hotel room for a short stay this hotel will do. It is less than 2 min walk to buses to Machu Picchu and Hot Springs! The location cannot be beat hands down!

Shower is not properly sealed, so you basically have a flooded bathroom once you finish taking a shower. Room is filled with mosquitoes, bathroom window was wide-open, no screen, and room and bathroom had insects all over the ceiling. Shower was not properly cleaned, there was floss on the floor from some previous guest. And, we were placed on the 5th floor, elevator not working, and the staff person did not even offer to help carry any bag. But if you like hotel rooms that smell damp like some abandoned warehouse, walking on a wet bathroom floor, being bitten by mosquitoes, finding hairs from who knows on the nightstand, and paying a disproportionate fee for what you are getting, then you might like the hotel.

The staff was nice but the reason I chose this hotel was for the pool which was in disrepair. The bathroom in the room was open at the top so it was difficult to contain bathroom odors. The shower was also open at the top adding to the humidity of the room. There was heat for the cold but no AC or fan for the heat. Nice balcony and great water pressure. I feel I paid way too much however.

Overall we had an excellent experience at this hotel. However, at check-in there was a confusion as to whether the room booked had been previously paid (It had been). Nevertheless I had to produce my credit card and pay again. Then after logging to the internet I was able to double-check with Expedia and my bank and showed receipts to management. They quickly cancelled the new transaction and refunded me the money. They apologized. No harm done I said and accepted their apology. We stayed three nights. Loved the place and the location

Some of the hotel is still under construction and the elevator did not work the entire length of the stay. As far as I could see the restaurant was only open in the mornings for breakfast. Pool and hot tub were uncovered, but not open might have been the time of year (August). Staff was pleasant, rooms were clean, breakfast was basic but hit the spot. Wifi was spotty in one of the kids rooms and batteries should be checked in the tv remotes we went out and bought some for our room.

This hotel is not even open. It is in shambles like it’s under construction or something. No one was there, here wasn’t even a front desk to talk to anyone. It’s pretty much an abandoned building.

The hotel was closed when I got Machu Picchu. Never got a notification that the hotel was closed and still got charged for this service. And there are still promoting an open hotel in Expedia.

Even though I was able to book the hotel, receive confirmation from EXPEDIA and decided to pay the extra $ fees for welcome drink and breakfast. When we arrived at 7pm tired, hungry and looking forward for our room to rest. The hotel was under construction and in shambles when we arrived. It was night time and now we had nowhere to sleep and had to scramble to find a place to connect on wifi to find a different accommodation and try and have expedia resolve this issue. Once I decided to call them and pay out of pocket for the ONE HOUR phone call the problem was solved but it shouldn't have happened to begin with and even less taken that long to resolve!!!!

I rarely complain but this was ridiculous, When we checked in we were told that we had two complimentary beverages at the bar and that there were tickets that we would be given. We later inquired about those tickets and were told by the same person to just give our room number. After dinner one night we stopped to have our drinks and were not charged. At checkout we were charged for two drinks, we disputed and of course were told that two free drinks was not available. NOTHING other than a pure hustle by GRINGO BILLS. Very sad, they made a great trip into a bad experience, Totally unacceptable. There's plenty of other great places to stay, skip this one. Just horrible that they would do that.

The bathrooms weren’t really good at all, at least when you are paying over $100/night in Peru. The water from the faucet was flowing In a jet stream that spilled all over, similar situation with shower. The bathroom also smelled like pee sometimes....complained about it but no action was taken

The Hotel is great but I have low scores because of construction going on. I know they are improving. The rooms are very nice thou and the staff friendly. The one thing nice is they give you your first night a free dinner, which was a 3 course meal. I went back and ate the same thing because it was so good and presented like a 4 star resturant. I am happy with my stay, I will come back

Really cool architecture. Beautiful property. My only complaint is there is construction happening at this time and it was noisy by 5 am.

A little run down, resteraunt was not open, water kept running out and toilet not working every once in a while but we were told its the same in the city due to rainy season. Electicity out a few times but again this may have been for the whole town.

Very unique layout of the hotel makes you think you are locked in a complete neighborhood. They started to care for us even before we arrived by contacting us to confirm our arrival time so they can pick us up from the train station.
