I am a seasoned traveler who has travelled to over 40 countries, stayed between hostals to 5 stars hotels but never have i experienced such awful hospitality. It has got to be my worst hotel experience ever.
The first 3 nights are booked on expedia and it was borderline ok. I noticed that certain races/nationality are given preferential treatment perhaps due to the notion that these customers are more likely to tip generously, they are often being greeted warmly and enthusiastically offered help with their luggages whereas asians like us are being discriminated.
The hotel breakfast was super boring, everyday it was the exact same menu, by the time it got to the 4th day, i just couldnt have it. We rather go to the nearby markets.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to extend our stay in Cusco for another 3 nights, despite being unhappy with the race discrimination and breakfast, we still chose to extend with Casa Andina as we felt it was too much of a hassle to find a new hotel. We then paid the hotel immediately at the rate of $75 USD/night.
That is when the true terror begins.
The 5th day, when we returned from an outing, a male receptionist with glasses approached us furiously and accused us of cheating them infront of all the hotel guests at the lobby.
It was really interesting that we made payment directly at the receiption with a credit card and that they made a mistake charging us in soles rather than usd$ but instead of apologizing for the inconvenience they h
