Great location.

Pros: Staff, location, general quality of fittings and facilities. Spa was very good,
Cons: Couple of minor imperfections in the room, but this is being picky. Ensuite really a bit compact.
Booked for a Sunday night, in junior suite with evening meal. Staff very accommodating. Room (No 328) very spacious, enormous bed, ensuite a little small when looking at the space in the room. Slept well. Spacious restaurant, lovely views, very tasty food. well worth the visit.

Beautiful lakeside hotel in Grasmere

Posted 30-Oct-2017
Pros: The location and the staff
Cons: The mattresses could be firmer in general - they offered little/no support or comfort for sleeping.
Location: A whole host of walks in the surrounding countryside.
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Daffodil. The hotel has been beautifully done up - it reminded us of some of the luxurious cruise ships we've sailed on - and the staff were all excellent. Small issues we encountered: the bed's mattresses were far too soft (NB. it was two singles pushed together to make a super king; mattresses were comfortable to sit on but offered little to no support) and we had an issue with an incredibly creaky ceiling if the window was open (which, with high winds, meant a lot of noise). Staff did their best to help with the noise, but couldn't do much - we were told the hotel was full so it wasn't possible to relocate us. Breakfasts each morning were plentiful both in volume and choice. Hotel is a short and pleasant walk into the village and has stunning scenery all around. We'd very happily stay there again.

Nice hotel with good access to Grasmere village

Posted 02-Oct-2017
Pros: Staff and a clean room.
Cons: The bar area service as it is a little walk to the village especially in the lakes rainy weather.
Location: Central location and good for walking.
The main ground floor bar area was a well laid out but there was no bartender on and I feel sure that guests would gather there making a friendly meeting area. On the first evening on arrival we went for a drink but had to hunt the bar tender who left immediately on serving myself and 2 other tables. Other guests arrived, gave up after 10 mins. and went to there there rooms for outdoor clothing and left to go to the village. There is another small bar open to the restaurant area which is no substitute. The main bar was closed to residents the 2nd night due to some charity occasion. The restaurant was ok but you need to book early to get your reservation time.

Nice location

Posted 21-Sep-2017
Had a lovely stay here for our anniversary. It's in a great location and has good trails nearby. The only comment was the restaurant. We had dinner on one of our stays felt that it was quite over priced for what we had. We were really up for trying to afternoon tea the following day and asked one of the waitresses whether they had any availability to which she said no they are fully booked. The following day we went for a long walk and came across many beautiful views. I decided to just try ringing the restaurant to see if anyone had cancelled their booking for the afternoon tea and when I spoke to a young chap called Matt he said that they've got availability!!! We rushed back and made it by 30 minutes before they stopped serving it. I saw on the booking pad that they had no bookings from 3-5 which is when we wanted to reserve for. So it was unfortunate that the first waitress told us wrong information making us rush back to have our afternoon tea. Other than that all over aspects was good.

Pros: A touch of luxury.
Location: Ideal location for walks. Grasmere village is very close by and Windermere is a short drive away.
Recently stayed here with my daughter, our room had a stunning view of the valley and was very comfortable. Staff were extremely polite and helpful I would definitely recommend this hotel.
