Gorgeous almost boutique style hotel

Posted 15-May-2017
Pros: Views, bar and restaurant and spa.
Cons: Nothing really to grumble about.
Location: Ideally located for walking and climbing.
A warm welcome awaited us as we arrived late. Immaculate room with mountain views and gorgeous grounds. The manager was extremely helpful and with wit and humour guided us on our proposed climb of Sca Fell Pike. Great local gin and tonic and excellent breakfast. Comfortable room with all the usual comforts. We eat at the hotel at the food was excellent with outstanding beef fillet and duck and sticky toffee pudding. The spa was small but excellent. We would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.

Mini-moon two nighter

I had not been to Grasmere or stayed at the Rothay Garden Hotel before but I will definitely be staying there again and recommending others to do the same. The location was great, the hotel is very stylish and the staff were very accommodating. Service was exemplary and my wife and I had a wonderful experience here.

Very nice clean, staff very helpfull room comfortable and plush, On the downside thought the evening meal was a bit pricey for what it was at £39.95 would have been nice just to have had one course or paid may be for two small portions but what we had was nice,

Nearly Perfect!

Posted 01-Aug-2013 on HotelClub
Beautiful building in a gorgeous setting, you really couldn't ask for me. The rate was perhaps slightly high for what is a good standard 4* and the reason for this is a lack of a pool. Given that it is a Spa hotel, the assumption was made that there would be a pool but sadly there isn't. That aside though, everything was brilliant with great staff, food and rooms. Would highly recommend to everyone not fussed about no pool!

Fantastic Hotel

I have stayed at Grasmere before at the red lion which is just along the road and is also a good hotel, but The Rothay GArden is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in , anywhere in the world. The room was spotless, the staff very very helpful and friendly and polite. The food was absolutely fantastic, I will definately be returning to this wonderful place!
