Great location for walks, relaxing and us time

Posted 08-May-2016
Pros: Good facilities
Really great first stay at north lakes, would definitely revisit. Good location for walks and great for relaxing on an evening. Don't let the look of the hotel on the outside fill you with panic of a cheesy low rate stay inside its luxurious and the staff were amazing.

Great location. Lovely spa!

Posted 05-May-2016
Pros: Great staff, comfy room. Nice spa
Location: Aira Force waterfall, Hallin Fell (great views) and Ullswater Steamers.
Most attractions within a 25 min drive. Spa is lovely though there were lots of kids in the pool so not particularly quiet! It was bank holiday weekend though.

Improve the consistency of the experience

Posted 06-Feb-2016 on Hotels
Sad to say I was disappointed with this hotel. There was poo down the toilet when I arrived, my TV didn't work and I'd been put in a room next to very noisy doors so was awake very early. The bathroom suite in need of an update and bedrooms slightly dated too. The breakfast was missing some elements from the menu such as granola. I was expecting a much more polished performance. Staff and ambience is lovely downstairs.i would have just liked consistency throughout.

A lovely hotel

Posted 27-Jan-2016 on Hotels
An overnight stay with our two children. The spa facility was beautiful, however any spa treatments would need to be booked prior to arrival or on booking. The restaurant food was of an excellent standard and although quite pricey was worth paying the extra. However, the price of drinks were very expensive. The hotel is far more stunning on the inside than the outside and the family room we had was more an adequate. A nice little gesture was the cookies, treats and drinks for our children, which were waiting in our room on our arrival. Would definitely stay again!

January weekend away

Posted 25-Jan-2016
Pros: The fires and the staff
Cons: The outside looks like a butlins holiday camp
Location: Location is bang on the M6 which whilst convenient doesn't make it a pretty location.
Lovely hotel inside with several log burning fires creating a pleasant environment. Staff were very friendly and helpful - happy to do table service in the bar and always attentive. Spa is very new and clean with a well furnished gym. One of the best breakfasts I have had in a hotel. Will look to go again.
